She's dirty.
Took delivery on Thursday and the weather has been pretty crummy since, with yesterday morning being the best of the last three days. So I did what anybody who waited for 16-months for their new Z06 would do. I drove it. In fact, 310 miles in the last three days including over 100 miles today in sometimes heavy rain. It hasn't been washed since I brought it home from the dealer Thursday afternoon and I gave it a quick detail. I cleaned the windows last night before my wife and I took it out in the rain to go to dinner. You really have to love silver for the low maintenance.
No problems at all in the rain with the PSS's. I love the "Stealth" mode exhaust. The car is basically whisper quiet until you uncork it and around 4000-4500 it sounds like all the baffles open and it starts to scream. I haven't really romped on it too hard, but short shifted it through a few gears and it feels pretty damn quick from a roll. Jason's 7.59 60-130 mph interval proves that, and I think in cool air from a rolling start these cars will run ~7.4's.
The A8 is smoother than the A6, but honestly, it seems to be an incremental improvement. It shifts a little more quickly, I don't notice it "hunting" for gears at low or moderate speeds.
Already bought two 5-quart jugs of Mobil 1 and am throwing it on the lift and doing the first oil change tomorrow. Probably put some more miles on it and take it out to do some acceleration data logging Monday night since it's supposed to be a little cooler. Going for tint on Monday morning.

Congrats. About time, huh?

The A6 is lousy in that scenario, if I'm being honest (full throttle in Sport Auto is a different story... the A6 is a solid performer there).
Beautiful color combo with the red interior and Spectra Grey wheels!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I look forward to hearing about your 10.3 1/4 mile time. Speaking of which you be sure and let me know whenever you're heading to a track in the NE or doing a rental. I'll be there!
Let's go for a roll when you're back from FL.
Best,
Gene
