Default To paint the mirrors or not...

So for background, I ordered an AW 3LZ Jet Black interior, CF stage 2. I thought I had ordered CF mirrors however a mixup between my sales guy and I resulted in AW mirrors. The debate I'm having is to keep them, get them painted Carbon Flash, or paint some other color (like the race car with red mirrors)...thoughts?

I like the carbon flash mirrors, personally I would have them on a white car.

I'm leaning the same way, i wanted them for a reason. I called the local dealer here (who i didn't get my car from), and the body shop goes "i can't paint carbon flash there's no paint code" i said WTF? I have the paint code...of course i won't have them do it now...

There's no right or wrong answer here, nor a need to rush to a decision before you even get it ... why don't you live with what you ordered for a little while and see how you like it?

Personally since I have 15% tint on my windows black mirrors would disappear, so I kept them body colored for that reason, plus the car has a lot of carbon flash accents as it is ... but that's just my taste and I've seen many with black mirrors that look great.

Yep exactly what i'm going to do, live with the white mirrors for a bit, then figure it out. 15% nice....!

Get them wrapped in whatever color you like. If you like them in black, then go for a more permanent paint job, or purchase the outer housings in CF as sold by at least one of the vendors here. CF and AW will look great together. IMHO

Red mirrors on a yellow race car are alright, but not good on a street car..
Leave the mirrors the body color.

If it was me, I would paint them myself with a spray can. Small items are easy to paint.

I was on same fence with my AW and liked them both ways but just a tad better leaving it white. Plus I figured I can always add later if I want to. Same thought on the hood stinger stripe.

Sorta of a CopyCat.........

The mirrors and hood vent will be much darker "Crystal Red" like the edging on the ground effects.

Rear surrounds on the taillights also included as well as air vanes on rear diffuser.

I ordered a car very similar to yours with same colors. I choose the carbon flash mirrors. I had a 2014 Arctic white that I didn't get with carbon flash mirrors but quickly figured out I liked them so much that I had them painted. I recommend carbon flash mirrors on the arctic white.

Funny how things change. A few years ago, a lot of base-model cars (Accords, MX6, Camry's) came with black mirrors. To get body color mirrors, you had to upgrade to a higher option package.

Now on the Vette, black mirrors are an option and body-colored is standard.

But you can't go wrong with body color either. Either way, enjoy

I personally like body color mirrors when they are attached to a body panel. If the are attached to the window frame like my CTS-V then I like them painted satin black.
