The fee for museum delivery goes to the museum. They detail it, present it to you, going over the features. You have a guided factory tour and a guided museum tour.

I wanted to do the museum delivery but didn't want to pick up the car in the snow. My original tpw was supposed to be 2/23 and I didn't want to take the chance. Now it's 3/16 and it would be fine. There are a lot of good reasons for museum delivery. The car even has a sign in it as it moves down the assembly line saying museum delivery. If there's a problem with paint etc it's fixed at the factory. Everybody working on it is very familiar with vettes. If my order was accepted later I would have gotten museum delivery, on a car like this it seems like a bargain.

museum delivery is a great deal! you get a personal assistant, guided factory and museum tours, your Z06 carefully inspected and waxed, personalized plaque, dash nameplate, door sticker, full tank of 93, and more, all at no extra charge since you have to pay for delivery anyway even if you only live a few miles from the factory.
for me, one of the biggest benefits, was to inspect my car under bright lights in the museum delivery area. if there was any orange peel or tire cracks, it would be evident here. i must have spent at least 2 hrs of the 8 hr day just going over the car. if i found anything, they were prepared to expedite any rework using museum or factory personnel. apparently the museum has priority with the factory rework team on museum delivery issues.
i may have been lucky, but my BS, A8, Z07 has no noticeable orange peel. even my 07 VY coupe has some orange peel after all the years of polishing.
the only negative aspect to museum delivery is driving a long way home in the winter. i could have done w/o that experience. (see my other posts if you are interested in that white knuckle story)

Great adventure w my Museum delivery. Icy roads, tough to get there, then the plant shut down Friday the day I pick it up, as there were not enough employees to start up production. Sooo, we didn't get the plant tour. Enjoyed it anywho, and got some great pic after the sun came out.
