Default Finally arrive..DAMAGED, cracked tires

After many months of waiting, my sg, a8, zo7 finally arrived at the courtesy dealer DAMAGED AND CRACKED TIRES.
Apparently damaged during rail transit from Toledo to Milpitas CA.
Drivers door edge crushed. About 8 inches long. In order to fix it needs a door skin. then, to blend paint colors, I guess not only the door panel, but the adjoining panels (fender, quarter panel, maybe hood and trunk lid) will need to be painted.
now I have a brand new 100K car that has been 30 % repainted. Even if a flawless job is done, it will never be as good and match like factory paint. This will no doubt affect value and resale.
this is not what I paid for. I paid for a NEW vehicle, not a repaint!
should I accept a repair or should I insist on a replacement c7z?
how long to get a new one if I start over? Will GM put at the front of the line?
should I just wait for a 2016?
what a disappointment!
REMEMBER TO CHECK FOR CRACKED TIRES
thanks

If it was me, no way. Hard pill to take, but better not let the excitement cause a bad decision. Sorry to hear, feel for you.

Fwiw I would not accept this car even if they fixed it and offered me $10k cash back to keep it.

I would not accept a damaged car that needs to be repainted. Unacceptable.

I would refuse delivery. I doubt GM would be able to rush you a new car, but it never hurts to ask!

Ask for a new one, Any good car guy can tell if a car has been painted. First thing they think is the car has been wrecked. They can't sell the car as new so they should discount it for you.

The worst part is if you don't accept delivery they might fix it off the books without logging it into the service record and some unsuspecting soul is gonna buy it not knowing all the damage and repair it went through. If I were you I would post the VIN out of courtesy to anyone doing a google search so that they may find this thread.

I would have it re-painted with the proviso that if it does not meet your expectations that then a replacement by factory painted panels be used or a replacement car.

Very unfortunate!

Tomorrow, I am taking mine in for a panel repaint due to a small factory blemish. If it's not perfect, this is what I intend to ask for.

I would turn it down. You would be taking an even bigger hit on depreciation if they fixed the damage. I don't by damaged goods at the grocery store much less a $80-120 k Z06!

Run, don't walk, away. As hard as it will be, start over and get a new one. It won't seem like it now, but later on you'll be glad you did.

Bummer and a half!

i would walk away from the deal can always find another one although the wait sure sucks

and yeah would be surprised if they do repair and actually tell the buyer about the damage

If you really can't live without it, take it.

I'd pass on it. This is why one should never pay for the car before seeing it in person...

Do you have a choice? I was under the impression that when you do a courtesy delivery you've already paid for the car before it ships, and you lose the right to refuse delivery.

I'd pass on it unless they1. discount it, 2. send the panels from the factory that are pre painted from the factory. It is my understanding that the new Vets are not painted assembled. They are assembled like a puzzle with panels that are batch painted and cars are assembled from those batches. Finally have an agreement fromGM if it doesn't meet your approval you walk. Just a thought. If the current panels are just repaired, painted etc. you are definitely going to take a hit resale time.
