2016 z07
Has any heard about a 2016 Z07 model? I have read several articles on the internet about a Z07 model. From what I have read, the engine is less horsepower than the Z06. I have a Z06 with the Z07 package on order and the dealership cannot tell me whether the car will be a 2015 or a 2016. I do not want to step back in horsepower from the Z06. I did not choose the competition sets because the dealership talked me out of them. I like the look better. What is everyone's thoughts on competition seats?

The 2016 model should be much the same as the 2015. Don't expect anything like a horsepower reduction...nonsense.

I doubt the Z06 will lose any HP going into 2016. In fact, many people are hoping both the Stingray and Z06 get a slight HP bump going into the 3rd year of the C7 platform.
The Z07 is to the Z06 what the Z51 is to the Stingray, simply a performance package with more track-inspired braking, cooling and cosmetics. The basic engine and powertrains are the same.
As to the competition seats, this is subjective. I personally like them both in performance and the cool factor. Some others don't like them and don't like the fact that even with the 3LZ option, the leather is not upgraded like it is on the GT seats. I suggest test driving both.

I think it's safe to say that I've read almost everything out there on the Z06, and I have never seen anything that says the Z07 package has less horsepower. If somebody said that in an article, they don't know what they're talking about.
The engines are the same, only difference is the Z07 engines are "hand made" at the Bowling Green performance engine facility instead of assembled completely at Tonawanda. The rating is the same, and it's unlikely there is any significant power difference.
The Z07 does have more drag due to the aero. It will be faster around a race track, but the drag would slow it slightly in other acceleration contests. Nothing to do with the engine, just aero drag. Lighter brake rotors on the Z07 could provide a slight boost in effective power to the ground due to less rotating mass.
If you find the source where you read about the power difference, please post it so we can know who not to read in the future.

I like the competition seats better than the GT and I had a 14 C7 with GT and now have a Z06 with competition seats. I like the looks and feel better with the competition

IDK there are some really dumb dealers out there.

It's strange that I never see anyone mention that the comp seats sit higher than the GT seats even adjusted all the way down. At Spring Mountain I started avoiding the cars with comp seats just because with the helmet on I was hitting my head on the roof.

I am not sure what you mean by status, 1100. The Sales Manager priced out the car and took a deposit from me. At that time there were two Z06 orders in front of mine. The Sales Manager also informed me that until their dealership comes up in its next rotation, they would not know when my order would go in.

They say "Customers will have to choose from two engine options- first you have a 4.5 litre twin turbo V8 engine producing almost 500 Hp and next one being stronger consists of a 6.2 litre V8 engine system generating nearly massive 600Hp."

So there are actually articles out there stating that for 2016, there will be a new Corvette Z07 model added even though there is currently a Z07 package available on the Z06, a car not even in production a full year yet?
And that this new Z07 model will also have less power than the current Z06 (base or Z07 package)?
Do these articles state whether there will be a new package to replace the Z07 package on the Z06s?
Or if this new Z07 model will have more power than the C7 LT1, slated somewhere between the base car and the Z06 (like a Grand Sport model perhaps)?
Are these reputable car magazines writing these articles or is like TV Guide or 'Better Homes and Garden'? LOL

I have the comp seats in my z06 and absolutely love them. I would highly recommend them but I would also say depending on your body size I can see where they may not fit certain people as well. I had gt seats in my stingray and liked those but I do like the comp seats better.

a little off topic but what I want in 16 is ; 5 consistent 1/4 mile blasts in 90 heat with current times, 5 year powertrain restored, improved paint quality, CLEANED UP REAR END, all new colors to choose from, removable/interchangeable rear spoiler (ONE that is aesthetically pleasing and ONE that gets the job done), carbon ceramic package with NON cracking rubber when idle in the north. Other than that I'm good and my 100 G is burning a hole. Actually contemplating the Caddy!!
