Default Just Curious-Anyone Scraping Their Splitter???

Iam just curious if you guys are having issues with scraping your front splitter as of yet??? Some of us have inclines on our driveways, etc. I have been keeping in touch with "Granatelli Bumper Savers" but as of yet they do not have their own ZO6 for "testing" so they are not ready yet to ship the product out. I was hoping by now they would have something ready to go. Would love to hear from those of you are having issues scraping it.

No. It does take some constant sense of awareness of it hanging out there. I will say that lowered on stock bolts, there is more clearance with my C7Z06/Z07 than I had with a lowered C6 Z06 with an APR front splitter, or my lowered ZR1. The C6Z06 didn't scrape on my driveway, but you couldn't slip a piece of paper between the splitter and the concrete

Just barley underneath when pulling OUT of my driveway. I have to hit it at a certain angle. My C6Z06 scraped more.

I only scrape on my driveway. Because its hell.

The road angles and slopes down while curving and my driveway also then agles up (not a hump) just pure angle

No problem with a stage one. Have been out one exit that would have scraped like crazy on C6 or C5 and it never touched.

How about the Stage 2 Splitter? Anyone measure the distance from bottom of splitter to floor on stock, non-lowered bolts?

Yes, I have scraped a few times and I am very careful. Stage 2 splitter. It's painful.

I must pay attention to the lower part of my driveway and need to exit/enter on an angle. My splitter would scrape but as of now I have not scrapped it. The rubber pieces scrape at times. Your driveway is "4" cars wide I think you will be able to get the car on an angle.

An interesting question ... does a stage 1 sit lower or stick out further than a stage 2.

I covered the splitter on my C6 Z06 with Xpel. No damage after 1 1/2 years. I have started using Trac Wrap by Xpel on top of the Xpel for extra protection. You can roll it under the splitter to protect the bottom. Trac Wrap is made by Xpel and u can buy it in different sizes. It is easy to apply and pulls right off. I use it on my 66 also. Check it out.

THANK YOU. I like your idea of the Trac Wrap. I didn't even know that existed. Iam going to put on XPEL so that will be a no brainer.

I actually looked at that item. Just not sure how practical it is. It says it weighs 150 pounds and in my case I would have to drag it back into the garage after putting the car away after each driving event. Kinda alot of hassle in some respects. I do "appreciate" your input. Take Care.

I have the "Granatelli Bumper Savers" for the C7 Stingray and plan to use them on my Z06. I may add some extenders to lower the "wheels" down to improve the chances of the wheels hitting before my front splitter.

My extenders will be a thick metal plate that will connect to the skid plate and be long enough to mount the wheel at a lower level.

Will have my cake and eat it too!

As careful as I am, on stock bolts lowered all the way I have scraped a lot. Fortunately, stage 1 splitter I consider disposable and easily replaced whenever I want. Once you scrape it for the first time underneath, you don't worry as much. I feel bad for those with stage 2/3 as they must be more expensive. Anyone know the GM replacement # for a stage 1?
