C7.R any details?
I see an article quoting Rick Conti stating there will be a C7.R for 2016, any good insight on this?
Would be Great to have a Track Ready option!
Thanks,
Steve

Pratt & Miller have already sold one to a customer that is competing in the WEC. So at Lemans they will be racing against the factory C7.R team (in GTE AM vs the factory team in GTE PRO)
But yes, a customer can't purchase and drive on street

Anything is possible when you have a suitcase full of green bucks to show Pratt&Miller? I know I would if I were wealthy. How about a street version of the C7R at $300k.

An speaking of Special Editions, Rick says the Corvette Z06 will have more than one, including a C7.R Edition!
Inside the new Corvettes, two-tone seats will be offered as well as the option for Red or Yellow stitching.
Also for the interior, a new color will be offered – Spice Red. Other changes include Red seats with suede inserts and Black with suede seating surfaces. Rick believes these might be part of a Special Edition as well.
Also for the interior, the Z06′s upper level 3LZ Twilight Blue will be available on the Stingray next year and Brownstone will still be available as well.
One of the more intriguing RPO codes to return to 2016 is B92 “Carbon Fiber Hood”. The hoods are already made out of carbon fiber so does this mean it will be an exposed Carbon Fiber hood? Conti says he can already see many constraints on that option should that be the case.
There are a few new wheels coming for Z06 which was expected. Also for Z06 is a new decal package.
A new Stealth High Gloss Carbon Ornament will be available as will a new Fusion Gray Stinger decal for the hood and a new full-length satin black stripe.
Finally, Conti mentions these two RPOs – EFR is “Exterior Trim Carbon Flash” and EFV is “Exterior Trim High Gloss Spectra Gray”.
Full details of the new 2016 model year changes for the Corvette Stingray and Z06 will be made a the National Corvette Museum’s Bash event held Wednesday, April 22 though Saturday, April 25th.
CorvetteBlogger will be at the NCM Bash to cover all the exciting changes and will be posting information both in real-time as well as all the seminar videos that we can possibly attend will go up the week after the bash. And following the Bash, Corvette’s Product Manager Harlan Charles says the new 2016 Order Guide will be made available to dealers so look for that well.

I think it's going to be a viper TA competitor. I have been saying it all along. There going to build one with 1 basic interior. Z07/comp seats/PDR standard. Maybe some different aero and suspension tuning. Hopefully price it around $95k. Maybe some limited colors/ and a C7R decal package.

Gee, it seems like I remember suggesting that GM do a track special, and all I got for it was a giant flame job with the primary objection being that there was no money in something like that.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a track ready edition similar to Z28 Camaro, that would be too good to be true. Likely additional graphics, wheels, body panels and other exclusives. I hope my expectations are 100% wrong.
Regarding the Pratt and Miller C7R, they built a street edition C6RS with Katech big cube powerplant and other top shelf parts including proprietary body panels. Jay Leno purchased the first one built. I believe that car ran on E-85.

If they do make a "C7.R" version, I'd expect it to be remarkably similar to the C7R in ways that are practical...
Better cooling, manual only, tuned suspension, and... a freaking WING!
Seriously though, I predict a wing. Hopefully lasers too, but we'll see.

Funny, because I'm most excited about the idea of red stitching being available on the Jet Black interior and additional black suede options. Targeting a Crystal Red Z06 with Stage 2 ground effects. Yum...

Nothing wrong with wishing for the best but I think some of us are setting ourselves up for disappointment when that editions ends up only being exclusive stickers, stripes and colors. Never say never though!

I don't expect anything crazy like a big NA motor. But... I don't think they will just do a decal package and call it the C7R. I could see it for an anniversary of a commemorative edition of some sorts but to name a stout car after it's bigger race car brother and only give it decals would almost be embarrassing in my opinion. Especially when all the other brands are offering "track specials"

Just a guess.

I see it as a decal package only. Especially after only 1 model year. A lightweight track special is still a pipe dream, especially if they are planning a ZR1 equivalent for the lineup. JMHO, but come on Chevy loves to decal.

Does anyone remember the 2009 Corvette GT1 Championship Edition? Stickers and paint.
