Default Stock Pads and Z06 Brake Dust?

How is the brake dust with general street driving with the stock pads on the Z06? I have one coming in a couple of weeks and am wondering what to expect. I know the dusting with the stock pads on my 2011 Grand Sport was absolutely ridiculous until I installed ceramics.

Ugh! I was afraid of that! Lol. Looks like I might need to be asking what ceramic pads are best for the Z06 next!

Thanks. I bought the ceramics for my Grand Sport from them and I recall them being great to deal with.

The brake dust is ridiculous especially with the chrome wheels. My front were bad and that's just street driving. I just got my Hawk ceramic performance pads today. That's this weekend's task

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

You get a tiny amount of dust with on track type driving, but elsewhere, virtually no dust.

My wheels were still shiny after a track event. That's a first.

Does anyone know what material the OE pads are on an iron rotor Z06? The brake dust on my car is just HORRIBLE!!

How are you liking these 1521's on your Z? I do not track the car, just want good braking without all the dust....UGH

Get the Carbotech 1521's, install them yourself and do a ceramic coat on the rims while you do it. I used cQuartz finest but Blackfire Crystal Seal is the easiest coating one can get away with...
