Update on 532 mile blown engine.
Well looks like will be a few weeks before I get my car back. Yeah I'm done with this thing for sure now. GM you can keep it. 1 year wait... have the car for 9 days...engine blows....now another few weeks before I get the car back.
Cars going to be ripped apart never the same again. So upset right now.. sorry for the vent but like they said if I trade in vehicle will be hard to get a dealership to take the car in especially since engine changed and when you tell a new customer that heres a new z06 with 550 miles but engine replaced they will walk away.
Would you buy my car for the same price of another z06 with the same miles and original engine? I sure as hell wouldn't

I've read your post Sat. I could not imagine. 10 years from now who cares of it has a new motor but in the next few yes it could effect value. I believe the proper term is "Diminished value".
I think I would contact me states Dept of motor vehicles and see if they have a lemon law or something similar. The best case would be GM buying the car back and getting an new one or them negotiating a DV loss claim with you for $'s.
Good luck and again VERY sorry to hear.

Best to keep it and enjoy it after you get it back. It will still be under warranty if anything else happens. As you imply, you will take a bath to sell it now so don't let your emotions overrule the sensible thing to do. JMHO

I'm waiting for gm to call back. I dint want the car at this point anymore. I understand it depreciated when I left the lot but now it depreciated wayyyyyyy more due to what happened. Now out few more weeks to get it back.

Yes I would buy your car with a new engine installed after 550 miles without a second thought. There must have been an obvious flaw in the engine if it failed in so short a period. Since it's being replaced under warranty, no sweat for you.

Of course you are upset. Calm down and think. You will be getting a brand new engine the car will still be the same and it wouldn't have depreciated any further. BTW aren't you the guy that wanted to make all the changes anyway. So in a few weeks you are back in the game.

Call the OP and I am sure he will get the paperwork started for you.
It is refreshing to see people put their money where their mouth is and step up to buy the car.

I'm labeled a hater or troll by some in this website but Norcalss $hitt happens, you are not going to be the last Corvette owner to have problems. I think all that matters is that GM is fixing your car under warranty. That's really all an owner could ask for. No?

As I stated in other thread I will be selling my mods. I'm not touching this car since I know even at oem level it can't handle it

I bought an NSX that had a motor replaced from Acura at 12k due to overrev. That car had more problems than I could have ever imagined and I would never do that again. Not saying that will happen to you but Im saying I would not buy your car unless it was way under market. With that said, if I were in your shoes I would fight like hell to get a new car out of them, or at least some type of cash for depreciated value that would make it make sense. I mean I feel its only fair with 500 miles but from their position a new engine does solve the problem. Now that's my personal option because of an experience but I do believe that many others wont give a $hit and your blue book value may not be effected. hard call man but I wish you the best of luck.

The "Lemon Law" of OP's state would presumably give him the right to force GM to replace the car or give him a refund (if it has been in shop for "weeks" and "weeks" remain). If I were OP, I might negotiate a diminution of value settlement with GM. Some "feel good" money might be enough to make him happy with a repaired car--- and a lot cheaper for GM versus a buy-back.

As of tomorrow the car will be in shop longer than I have owned it. I'm finding out about the lemon law now because one of the deals in california is if car us more in the shop than ownership it can trigger a lemon law deal.

Ah.... Nice of you to put words in my mouth, but that isn't what I said. The OP was asking a rhetorical question and I responded in the affirmative. Actually I'm waiting to order a new 2016, but if I was in the market, looking for a "deal" and a guy was selling a 2015 with a blown engine that got replaced under warranty cause he didn't want it anymore, I would certainly consider it. Odds are though, it would be unlikely that it would be exactly equipped the way I want it, so I almost always buy new vettes, to get it the way I like.

Color is blue exterior what is interior. Have pics and how much do you want for it. AS IS. Not my choice of color exterior. Is it the ZO7. Where do you live? PM me. Thanks.
