I did not see the post gathering questions and did not ask any myself. As best I can recall, these were the main one's I remember asked to Tadge:
Q: Why didn't you auto index the side windows further for hatch close?
A: A small index is needed to clear the outer seal and close the doors. A much larger index is needed to clear the inner seal to allow enough air movement. It would need to be so large that it would create a pinch point. And it may allow water in if raining. [This last point Tadge seemed to make up or meant half jokingly]
Q: Can we get a white interior (for those of us that are old school)?
A: White has shown to be terrible to clean and creates difficult warranty situations with the vendors.
Q: Can any of the 2016 new features (curb vid, hatch, faster electronics) be retrofitted to older models?
A: No as all these require new hardware and software. For the hatch, there is a new latch, also a few of the rear cargo are pieces were new and would also have to be replaced, electronics, etc.. Curb cameras also have new parts, harness, blah blah blah. He did say there were certain things that they hope to be able to make available for older models, like the PDR camera calibration upgrade.
I also went to the Michelin presentation and someone asked about the PSC2s cracking. Rep basically said you shouldn't move the car below recommended temps. And that if it is a crack deep enough to see the reinforcements, the tire is toast. There was no real new information and I'm surprised no one pushed this further.
I don't recall a ton of questions. They seemed to want to go though that quickly and kept teasing the unveiling of the 2016s as the carrot to not spend too much time on questions. If I think of anything else I will post again.

On a related note, they talked about and showed a pic of the new blade wheel for the Z06. After the presentation, I asked 3 GM employees (including the accessories person) if that wheel was available in chrome. None of them knew the answer , but all thought it was likely.
I finally tracked down Harlan and he said it would not be. He stated that if they would have had to make it in chrome as well, it would have reduced the freedom that the designers have with angles and other geometry. I don't know the limiting factors in the process of chrome plating to question or not. If he would have just said that not many people order chrome anymore that would have made more sense. In the end I guess it doesn't matter.
In any case, with all these questions it seems like the responses often have a somewhat dismissive tone. I understand product development and someone spent thousands of man hours on each item. And the participants have likely debated every facet back and forth numerous times. But the reality is that the enthusiast asking the question wasn't part of that discussion and just wants a window into the thought process. It would help if they took this more into consideration when answering.

Over time I have become more at ease with car enthusiasts of all types. While I never waxed my Z06 or even washed it myself I understand the passion other enthusiasts have for preservation and display. I'm ok with that and I belong with them in a larger category.
As car enthusiasts die off I see no purpose in creating rifts between some of us that track and those that enjoy the ownership in many other ways. We need glue between all the colors and shapes we come in more than ever.

"Um yeah Tadge I was wondering if you might be able to do something about the break dust on the 2016 models...and then apply it to my 2015 for free. No matter how slow I drive the car the chrome still gets dirty."

My bash question was: What oil to use at the track? The owner's manual says 15W50, Mobil 1 doesn't make dexos 15W50. No good answer yet.

Not surprising a "real" question about what oil to run at the track in the most track capable GM product ever made to date has no answer! They sure we're Johnny on the spot about window indexing. Thanks for asking the hard questions, the future looks bright!

I was looking under the hood of the NRB convertible on display. The corrosion and pitting on so many of the parts was disappointing. The alternator looked as though it was sprayed with salt water and the stainless headers had rust on them. I thought maybe it was a demo with some miles on it, it had 12 mi. When I asked about it what I got was "well these cars have been sitting outside" duh??????

Well I went to the "ask the experts" and asked about how the system was programmed for the different modes and which combo lends itself best for drag racing? They had absolutely no clue. They just knew how to scan and simply replace things that are out of spec. They have no idea of how the car is engineered and operates. It was a complete waste of time. I asked about how could one Z be bought and taken to the drag strip and knock off 10's and mph's over 130 when so many of us others, even experienced racers can not get into the mid 11's? Again, they didn't know. All the guy kept saying was " you're done " if the car just won't launch well. The autos are a huge surprise for them that they run so well at a strip. It was dumb luck. They weren't even considering drag times. They were after road racing and the handling of the car
