I agree. Besides, not a wise decision to do a 1/2 mile race with a Z07 aero package installed

Those M5's/M6's roll out up top. Both are great cars.

Take them both to a road-course and re-film.

Expected, That is basically the same as a hellcat with a better gearbox. Still 4400 lbs tho for an m6 :/

Not a surprise the higher hp car starts to walk toward the end.

When will everyone realize that the vast majority of people prefer straight line racing?

Many could care less what the car does on a road course.

Not true. I care as do many other owners.

For $78k (base price) the C7Z06 will be the smarter choice compared to any other 2015 model on the planet. Period the End.

It's astonishing how far off-base you all are with your comparisons about what is "better". The bias and/or ignorance is mind-blowing.

The M6 is a damn luxury GT cruiser (not 4,400 lbs either) and not a sports car. These events are for - generally - modified cars to go fast in a straight line, which further makes the comparisons stupid because even given identical mods, the starting cars are different.

And yes, MOST people do care more about straight line speed.

And no, there is not a "smarter choice, period the end" when it comes to these types of cars. Price isn't the factor, it's whatever a person wants. How YOU justify something is completely irrelevant.

Corvette owners forum with the maturity and objectivity of a middle school.

Personally, I prefer to do HPDE's and autox's more than 1/4 mile passes.... nothing against it but curves and apexes are more fun to me.

I love the qtr mile straight line races been doing that since I was 15, now over 50. But that said I am really looking forward to learning how to road race in the near future.

C7 VS Z06 The last 4 or 5 min not worth watching.

Without a retune won't it be making less power because of the PSI loss caused by the headers? The new M6/5s are pretty beastly stock and get even quicker once they are modded. The car in the video is making 670whp+.

That's the previous generation M6, the new one is a TT V8 whereas that one is an NA V10

That's straight F1 sound. That's when BMW/Williams was bringing the heat to Ferrari.
