It Stinks - ask my wife
I usually don't write about such things but have to say that after owning my Z06 since March 22nd, the "smell", which has to be toxic. Clearly, not as bad as when first purchased and after keeping windows open driving and in the garage, etc. My wife describes the smell as rubber/plastic "fumes", and can only take the smell for short rides. She is not hypersensitive, being around the race track and following my racing, all over the country, for years. I know most here will say the smell disipates in short order or the remaing smell is not "so bad", but give me a break. When spending over $100,000 for a car, we are entitled to a "nice" smell, maybe not great leather, but something (even fake). I write this in part to get GM's attention. I own several high end cars and a couple costing around $100,000, and NONE smell bad. I have a deposit on the next iteration of the Corvette, which I understand may cost close to $200,000. I can tell you (GM) right now, I will not buy the car if this is how you continue to manufacture them and I have (maybe) a friend or two left, who will follow suit. Best

Well you got 3 choices as I see it...
1. Sell it and buy another and hope it doesn't smell as bad.
2. Sell it and buy something else.
3. Keep it and get some Febreeze air scents.
Sorry, but GM is not going to change their manufacturing process/materials they use to build these machines.

You could let it sit in the garage or outside with the windows down try and air it out. I can't imagine the smell will go away..If not hit the army navy store and pick up a gas mask...You can look cool and scary at the same time..lol..
Hope it works out for you..

Accepting less has become a way of life. In a society where everything goes, eventually everything will. I respect the right of all of us to hit the keyboard. Best

Some are stronger than others. Mine has barely any hint of it left after taking delivery in Jan. Some of the Stingrays/Zs seem to have it worse than others - but they all pretty much go away in a few weeks/months.
Reminds me of the Lotus cars. Same smell, same source/reason.
RBK - don't throw the baby out with the water. That smell goes away. Sorry you got one that had it fairly strong.

GM probably has different suppliers of adhesives and plastics it uses, and its the luck of the draw on whether a car you get has the stinky new car smell or the good new car smell
