Default One week honeymoon worth the wait!

It was a very long 100 day wait. Ordered 100 days ago, built 70 days ago, stuck in Toledo 50 days, but my A8 Z06/ZO7 laguna blue carbon fiber trimmed beauty finally arrived at the beautiful all year corvette drivable southern Oregon coast! Surprisingly it had only very minor orange peel, lucked out there!

Waiting so long I was truly prepared. Day one I replaced the cup 2 tires with SSs and went to th DMV and ordered appropriate vanity plates, BLU BYU, which I plan on doing alot of!

Day 2 I installed splash guards, sill protectors, laguna blue kick plate covers, hatch weather seals, heavy sound deadening mats and heavy Lloyds Jake logo front and rear cargo mats. The two heavy cargo mats work well for sound deadening but are very thick and probably reduce cargo capacity by at least a cubic foot.

Days 3 & 4 were spent getting the required 500 miles for the break in oil change and signing up for the level 2 class at Spring Mountain.

Day 5 did the 500 mile service.

Day 6 drove up to Eugine and had the most tricked out radar detector/laser shifter I could find installed, an Escort 9500ci Passport Laser Shifter Pro. A little pricey at $1,900 plus $600 install but worth it. When you get targeted by laser it sends a confusing shifted signal back to the cop which allows a couple of seconds to adjust your speed, then you cancel the confusing signal and the cops then get a reading on your adjusted speed. How cool is that! While the car was apart also installed a front camera to eventually interface with the Navigation screen.

It was a great week. I spent 21.6 hours driving, drove 852 miles using 48.2 gallons of fuel putting 16,200,000 lifetime revs on this beast, averaging 18.1 mpg, not driving for milage but for fun. I did go WOT with the windows open thru a long tunnel, probably destroying part of my hearing which I will not repeat.

Like others I do not regret taking a bath selling my '14 Z51.
