Default Z06 Hardtop Vert ETA?

Sorry if this (probably) has been covered a schmillion times but I didn't see it in this section of the forum and was hoping someone could tell me if there has been an official or approximate date for the release of the Z06 hardtop vert yet? I really want one but I'm also thinking it might be prudent to wait a year for the bugs to get worked out on a first-time hard top that's bound to have issues. I know the C6 power top had quite a few in the beginning....

Thanks guys

A hard top for the vert? Or a retractable hardtop?

I haven't heard/read of any plans for either of those, but I'm admittedly not a follower of convertible news.

Probably not going to happen. The coupe gives you 75% of the convertible feel and it's easy to take the top off.

Not during the rest of the C7 generation.

If you mean a retractable hard top? It's not going to happen.

apparently you've never owned a convertible !

a removable targa top is not even close to being 75%
the same as a real convertible ! maybe 25% !!!

I've owned both (first Corvette was convertible, second -- 2014 Stingray -- is a coupe). The coupe absolutely provides most of what a convertible offers -- except the look of the car is much better with the coupe.

Don't get me wrong, I loved my convertible and I'm glad I had it, but the C7 coupe is pure perfection and gives the best of both worlds.

Maybe from a surface area perspective, but when I take the top off and give someone a ride I have gotten many comments to the effect of "wow its practically a convertible!". I think the experience is closer than the surface area difference.

Agreed, not to pile on - owned a couple convertibles. The main upside of the convertible is being able to push a button and get the top down.

I swear I saw something before the C7Z came out last year that there was going to be a hardtop retractable top that looked like a coupe but retracted like a BMW M3 does????? Oh well. I guess I won't be waiting for that to decide now. Thanks guys.
