For those who still lament the street race misadventures of the new Z06, see where the car was really meant to shine: Track Days.
It was the first day ever at Circuit of the Americas in Austin for myself and my new C7 Z06. But even with street tires, the Z still manages to take down some heavy hitters.
Can't wait to see what it can do with R compound tires, track alignment, and a little more seat time!

Hellyes... I don't normally watch any YT video more than 2-3min but the editing was perfect, congrats on getting to drive on that track, wish I lived closer, just been there for motoGP and thats about it

Wow. Great ride-along. Thanks for the well-edited fun.
Did you go straight from Sport Mode to Track Mode:Race?
How did that feel? Sport pulls a lot of power when those squiggles come up. Track Mode:Sport1 is a huge difference. I haven't tried Race yet.

BTW, just realized that your Vette is yellow! That's why it is so fast ;-)
Don't want to start any fight there but this is a well known fact that yellows are the fastest...

Means little given not knowing other drivers skill level and what they were doing at the time. Not doubting your abilitiy or Z06 potential, just saying no way to make a judgement in my view. Best

Just making a fun video. Nothing scientific about it.

It was in track mode. Left traction on for first 2 sessions then turned everything off going to race mode. I find turning things off progressively just prolongs my anxiety about what it will feel like and what might happen. Turning everything off means I drive one new car instead of 5 (wet, dry, sport 1, sport 2, and then race). I say drive in race, be careful, make the back end step out with a little extra throttle somewhere safe on track and have a plan on how you will catch it. Then you drive with no more fear after that. It's actually really fun. Not sure if I'm really faster in race, but it's way more fun.

It's a matter of personal choice, and like you said...fun.
