Default Velocity Yellow vs New Yellow

I only imagine it to be cheaper because VY was such a perfect yellow. Next best I've seen was the Bentley but the Corvette's yellow is/was even better.

Has anyone seen the new yellow in person? I'm wondering if maybe they use it on Camaros already or something like that. It'd be very hard to tell in pictures.

The fact VY went on such tight constraint and then got replaced is interesting to me... I wish I knew the story.

No offense to anyone getting the new yellow - I've never seen it so only have an opinion on VY.

Have had 2 VY Corvettes and am looking forward to Corvette Racing Yellow on my 2016. My take on the new yellow is that it doesn't have as much "green" in the yellow and gives it a bit of a lighter look.

The new yellow is much more yellow. If you guys get me a color code for each yellow I'll break down the exact formulas for you. Then you'll know exactly what's different.

The paint chips posted side-by-side by Rick Conti don't look a whole lot different, though the hue of the G6C Yellow looks lighter. Unless you see them side by side I wonder if you could tell the difference.

The new yellow sucks. VY was the best.

Are there any new colors for the Z06 for 2016 that anybody knows of like a green, or is the lighter yellow the only change?

Long Beach Red replaces Chrystal Red. The 2016 sales brochure mentions only these two color changes.

I like VY, but I might like the new yellow a bit better. A little more under stated. Both look great. If I was going yellow, I would still go yellow.

I think the best Corvette Yellow ever was Millennium Yellow.

If you watched any of the 24hrs of Le Mans race this weekend, the C7R Corvettes are painted Corvette Racing Yellow.

Hands down VY looks better. It has a warmer appearance, less plastic toy looking. Doesn't VY have a mica in it? Does the new yellow?

Since these are pics I took and posted in a separate thread in the C7 General Discussion forum, I can tell you that plate X9-110 is the 2016 (driven at the time by plant manager, Jeff LaMarche) while plate C7VETTE is my 2014.

I was worried about this when VY was discontinued and I still hadn't gotten an allotment.
Since then I have seen a swatch of each and IMO the RY is exactly the same but one shade lighter. My friend who works at Ferrari has seen both in person and thinks that while both are nice, the RY is very similar to that used at Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Thanks MAn! I agree VY is much nicer then the new too bright race yellow... :-(

I am so disappointed! I was hoping the new one to be a little bit darker but that's the total opposite...

Very disappointed with the Racing yellow color. Saw it in person with the sun on it and I was liking it but not loving it compared to the velocity yellow. My opinion changed drastically the other day when a Racing yellow Z06 past me on a very cloudy day. Very pale looking, it really needs the sun to pop but without the sun it's just dead looking. My opinion just very disappointed
