Default Z07 lowered rear

Does anyone know why you can't lower a Z07 package rear end as much as a stage 1 or stage 2 Z06? I remember seeing something on this before but can't find it.

I lowered my car all the way with my 18 inch race rims and tires, and the front sits at 27 inches and the rear sits at 29 inches. A 2 inch rake seems a bit much. I didn't take measurements but does anyone know what the measurements are for stock ride height and rake? I measure from the bottom of the wheel well to the floor.

Stiffer suspension on the Z07 I would imagine does it. I lowered mine about an inch further by cutting the rear bushings down to the first disc.

Did you have to take to rear end out to cut the bushing?

Have you tracked the car with that cut bushing yet? If so have you experienced any issues?

Get a couple aftermarket lowering bolts, it will get you another 1-2" if you wish. I have a couple here if you need some. I bought four and used only two

Bingo! ~50% stiffer rear spring.

Holy crap! From stage 2 to Z07 there is 50% stiffer rear springs?

So having that said then, it looks as if a lowered (than normal on stock bolts) Z07 can cause the rear to be very unstable at certain race tracks.

There is the 'rough track' recalibration.

No easy to cut with the wheel off and on axle stands as you do for lowering the bolts normally.

have tracked mine with the only issue being the wheels touched my fenders (these were aftermarket wheels and the offsets are slightly too aggressive). That is being fixed and all I had to do for the track was raise it up a bit. Once the wheels are modified I'll lower it back down again. I had the track alignment done with the lowest setting with the bushes cut.

Even with the bushes cut you can raise the car higher than it came from the factory as there is plenty of adjustment upwards.

I used WCC bolts on mine.

Seeing above, so many different numbers for Z07 rear spring difference from stages 1/2, that I went back to confirm the correct information, as follows from an earlier thread.

Thanks Poor-sha, and why, with 62% stiffer rear springs on a Z07, it is so challenging to lower a Z07's rear by just using the factory adjustment bolts, and other methods must be used.

John- you have it reversed--the front is 62% stiffer (rear 22%).

The car would be a barely-drivable drift machine on the track, w/ that stiff of a rear spring :-O

Thanks for putting up that informative post, here--definitely helpful on this topic.

Just had mine done as I run Sebring a lot. They call it the "Willow Track Calibration" it took the dealership 2.5 hours on the phone trying to find someone who knew about it and getting it downloaded. The dealership called me late last night and said my car took it so I should be set.

Toilets, that's an interesting (funny & yet unique) handle. Do you like toilets, or are you in the toilet business? (no offense intended, just curious, and it's definitely memorable)

Also, since I have ordered a Z06 w/Z07, do they really come in looking like AWD vehicles? Are they sitting that high, or noticeably higher than a non-Z07 Z06?

Yikes, I'll have to revise that, if it is the case. Do they settle down at speed, or am I going to look like I'm on my way to a 4x4 off-road event?

This would be social suicide here in Southern California, especially since mine is also a convertible! Oh, the humanity!

Someday someone is going to make that suspension information a sticky

Toilets, is it possible that this issue is specific to your car or have others with the Z07 package had this problem?
