Default Overheat on Hot Day in Heavy Traffic?

I have a TPW of 8/10 for my Z06 2LZ A8 Vert. I doubt it will ever be on the track, but it will be a DD. Will I have overheating issues in heavy stop and go traffic during many 95+ degree days? Getting a little nervous after reading track overheat posts. Thanks.

I have put 1500 miles in 6 days on my A8 Miami, Orlando and Key West. Temps have been 93 and up. Traffic has sucked and the car has been a champ. Ice cold AC. and no problems at all.

I will be driving cross country to Vegas next week and I have no doubt it will be a pleasure.

It took 20 minutes of hard driving at Spring Mountain to get the z06 to have issues and then it was steering first. No chance of being able to drive that hard on the street unless you're being chased by the cops.

This car has a large and effective cooling system, although it might not be effective enough for high horsepower output on a hot day.

Those issues are much different than cooling while putting out minimal horsepower in traffic.

Got caught in 4pm rush hour in Atlanta recently. Car said it was 101* but the radio reported actual was 96*.

Bumper to bumper 5-20mph for 40 minutes or so never exceeded 218* on the coolant temp and about 226 on the oil temps. Heard the fan kick up to a higher speed once or twice for about 60 seconds then it went back to the normal low howl.

As others have said you will be fine.

I believe these unsupported claims of overheating in traffic that we've sporadically seen are largely bullsh*t.
On Friday, in 98-100* temps, I drove over 110 miles around Orlando from 417, across the I4 corridor through downtown Orlando at rush hour to 528 and back past the airport. It took 1:15 to get from 417 to 528, which is about ~25 miles.
This is the result:

Cruising ~65-75 mph in the same temps, they are in the ~190-194* range on coolant and about the same for oil.

I have 1500 miles on my Z06/7 A8 without the 07 aero panel under the radiator installed. I had the same question so a few days ago when it was 103 outside here in AZ. I decided to run a test around my area. A 40 mile loop gives me 11 roundabouts in heavy stop and go traffic a bit of hyway and slow putting thru another town. Temps outside went to 105F and I was watching the Coolent Temps, max 221F, and Trans temps which didn't get over 190F. I had 4 WOT runs to 110 mph and one run to 131 my fastest to date. I couldn't run it any harder under these conditions and the AC was cold and the seat fan worked great.

Mine has seen 100+ degree ambient temp several times. Engine oil and coolant temps consistently hovering around 200 degrees. No issues with this car as a driver.

I dd my 15 in 100+ often and never had an issue. I'm now waiting for a 16 I've ordered. I have no worries at all about that. Relax, you are going to love your new Z and they have worked the bugs out except for racing in hi heat at hi rpms.

Has anyone noticed the floor boards or centre console getting hot?

Nothing even remotely approaching that of the C6. You could make an omelet in the center console of my ZR.

This is good news. My C6 has first class AC sitting in 100* traffic. Hate to loose that.

I drove C6 GS's for 3 days at Bondurant in 100*+ temps a few years ago. I was pretty surprised at how hot the console and tunnel got. My Z06 has been fine even on-track.

Yeah but it was in the afternoon and we'd been driving off and on all day. The ambient temp was 108! Not normal driving conditions for sure.
