Default 15w50 oil in Dexos ii?

i just called Mobil 1 and the 15w50 oil does not come in Dexos i or ii. Call GM and they said they get back to me but no reply. Planning a track day next week and would like to follow the manual recommends, does anyone know if its OK to put non Dexos oil in?

Secondly, dexos is a SPECIFICATION not an ingredient or type of oil.

No, Mobil 1 15w-50 is NOT dexos1 compliant and is intended for track use only per GM. Reasons are many, and please read thread below before commenting.

This thread below is one of the newest and most complete "dexos" and oil weight discussions. There are MANY others as well with similar outcomes if you SEARCH.

This is the result of searching "15w-50 dexos":

Dexos is a specification standard for oil. Part of the standard has to do with viscosity. And I believe its for 40 weight and below for the gas mileage and lower emissions part of the standard (I guess)?

Point is for the track you want to run Mobil 1 15W50 or some other full synthetic in that weight. A 15W50 Dexos spec oil doesn't exist as far as I can tell.

Same info in thread(s) referenced in post #2.

Nothing heavier than Xw-30 will be dexos1 compliant. dexos2 is for diesel.

Mobil 1 15w-50 is NOT dexos1 compliant, and is for short term track use per GM and owner's manual. As referenced in #2.
