Default Half mile roll race setup help

Going to slipstream at Pocono on Friday and I've never done roll racing. a few questions:
1. Do I need to run my track/cup wheels or will the PSS be just fine since its a roll and expected to be in the 80's
2. whats the best PTM mode? Should I be on track/race for "all available engine power" or better to stay in a track/sport mode?

Grip wise cups are better but PSS should be fine unless you need every tenth. If the runway is not prepped tires won't matter. Remove aero if you are stage two or three as it kills MPH up top. With my ZR I raced a Z07 from a dig a few times on a runway and he could not do better than 148 to my 158.

Use track/race PTM setting. Set suspension as soft as possible to help it squat. Try with and without launch control if you do a dig. Surface makes a big difference.

just have fun!!!!!

I can remove the front lip but the sides are riveted on and I'm not about to drill them out. What about spoiler?

I don't have a C7 Z, but here's what I would do:

Run the lightest wheel/tire setup you have.

You're going in a straight line, so if you can take any aero off the car it will probably help. However, I don't think anyone has done a back-to-back test of the speed differences between the aero packages in a roll-racing environment.

Whatever mode gets you full power.

Have a blast, and post some numbers!!!

Since you say they are doing this at Pocono which straight are they going to hold the race on? The front straight or the Long Pond? Where will it start and where will it finish? If the finish line is near the end of the straight it could be hard to keep wide open throttle all the way to the finish line with the turn coming up shortly after. The front straight is about 3800 ft long and if the start is just as you come off T3 and goes almost the complete length of the straight you could be hitting speeds in the 150 range as you approach the next turn. I have gone through T1 in the 115 mph range and I know some drivers can go through much faster but it takes some cahones to go through at a really fast rate. On the bright side you do have a safer barrier in front the concrete wall if you make a mistake.

In my Stingray, I hit 149 something at the top of 4th gear in the 1/2 mile race this May. Basically, I kept it in sport mode, traction control on, launched soft and didn't get on it hard until 2nd gear. The runway was not prepped for hard launches so I treated it more as a rolling start. If your car is a manual, the hardest part is going from 4th-5th at 150mph

I know. Ended up doing pretty good. Had no traction issues so was in track/race mode. I ran a tuned 2015 GTS and as expected he pulled on me in 4th. This was early in the day. Later my times got better as I no lift shifted but at this point I had never tried it. If the viper was stock and I No lifted it would have been very even.
here is the viper race:

That race was 149. Best was 155. Yes bone stock. I do have a halltech rz but it was not installed do to a air leak issue which was resolved over the weekend and is now all go. The extra 40 wheel HP would have really been helpful Friday lol. if I had that and the NLS I don't know that I would have beat it but it would not have walked away like that. I think it would have been anyone's race. The was a stock one there I beat his ET but didn't get to run

yeah my mphs were all over the place (C6Z) my best was 145, but I KNOW I could have done better. At about 55mph I was in second, not sure if I should have started in third or not. Anyhow, is there a roster where all times are posted?
