Default Tired of overheating issues and need some positivity before purchase

So, I am about to get my Z06 on Tuesday and I am pretty excited! However, I have to admit that the overheating issues still scare me. Most folks have told me that I have to be pushing the car pretty hard in order to experience this. In any case, before I officially hand my money over, I want to hear from others about their positive experiences on the track. I need to hear some good stuff to get me more excited and less worried about purchasing this car.

They are all junk. Since you have a contract, go ahead and buy the car, and I will then take it off your hands so you won't be exposed to the horrors of ownership.

Or.....stop fretting about the friggin internet and go buy your car and have fun.

As long as you don't plan to mod it then I would really not worry at all, that's what warranties are for.
Congrats on the order and post some pics when you get it.
For the crazy people like me that always want more power and want to mod, I believe I just found my solution and piece of mind. It starts with a C and ends with a Y.

How often do you plan on tracking it? Auto or stick?

Only way I'd be remotely concerned is if I was picking up an auto car and had plans to repeatedly beat on the car at the track.

Get the car and enjoy the smiles.

It appears that some are affected and some are not. Maybe it is driver dependent but it is obvious that many have experienced it. It is really a roll of the dice at this point.

just like everyone else said.. Are u buying an auto or the M7? If you are buying an auto and are going to track it a lot then I understand your cause for concern. If you are buying for street and an M7 I would be least concerned.

There are lots of owners that track prep which wont void your warranty and able to last full sessions with no issues. Quite alot over the last few weeks with great results.

Well at least you are aware!! I was aware of all of the cars problems before purchasing as well. I fixed the oil and water ingestion issue. Have other issues now but still grin every time I drive it!!

Water ingestion issue? Oil ingestion issue?
I think those vary car to car as the issue is not there for me like the oil issue my 1lt had. My car must have a good break in because after 8k
between oil changes. It went from 1/3 up the hash mark (fill point used) between
the holes on the stick to almost the touching the hole.
A small amount of oil for over 8k. In 3k it should be not moving on the stick.
The dealer advises to not use the oil monitor which was at 53 percent. He recommended a straight 3,000 miles change interval.

This 2015 Z06 of mine has no issue about water or oil.

HAHAHAHA; thanks so much! I am just getting nervous and paranoid as the days get closer; this is literately the most money I have ever spent on a car. However, I have calmed myself down and am ready to buy the car. I plan to keep it my family and make it part of a collection I hope to someday have.

Lastly, to answer the other posts; it is in-fact an M7

Thanks everyone!

Have you looked under the SC cover? It takes 10 minutes to take off and put back on. It is the Only Way To Tell.....

Gotta second/third this as well... I spent way too much time reading these forums waiting for my car and it just makes you paranoid. After taking delivery and putting some miles on the car, I have no regrets.

Went with a 2016 M7 Z06 too since I plan to track it, and given past experience with tracking turbo charged cars (similar heat issues as with super chargers), I was expecting cooling mods if planning to run in really hot weather. I'll find out how my car does next month once I finish the first 1500 miles, but I already have a friend who ran his 2015 A8 on track in 95F with no issues at all which made it easy for me to get over the online obsessing after getting exposed to these forums.

^This. The auto has more chance of overheating than M7. I have seen at least 3 experience issues (trans and power steering) at the same time at the track and I was harder on my cars & lapping faster than them.

Not doubting your word at all, but are you sure the A8 was overheating? If so, this is the first report of this happening because all PDR data has shown very low temps for the A8 even when the engine oil and water temps were way too high.
