Those that have moved from C6 to C7
I have a nicely modified C6 making 760 whpr. I have owned it for 8.5 years (since new). It is merely a toy, used sparingly, well maintained but driven appropriately. I love the car and see no need for another. The car is not for sale (or so I thought). A friend that knows the car has offered me what I believe could be the best number I could expect for my car (and maybe then some). My son absolutely does not want me to sell it, my wife is indifferent.
Only way I do this is to move up to a C7Z. Has anyone in my situation out there done this? If so, any regrets?
The car will go straight from the dealership to ECS for upgrades so it will not be stock for more than 30 miles. Someone talk me into or out of this because I am on the fence.

My last corvette was a 427 convertible and I considered adding a supper charger, but instead decided to enjoy what I had.

Apples and Oranges for me. The new C7Z06's greatest attribute is its Jekyll and Hyde capability, going from soft, comfortable, quiet highway cruiser to snarling beast with the turn of the ****.... Truly amazing. My C6 was a std 08 Z51, but I've driven C6Z06 and ZR1 cars. The C7Z06 is far and away a much better car. Technology, interior, power, etc. Wife is happy to be toured around town, yet makes me giggle like a 8 yr old girl every time I mash the fun pedal...

I had a C6 Z06 with close to 700 hp.
I now have a C7Z.
I loved the old Z, but after 4000 on the new Z I'd never go back. This car is a superior car from all aspects. Interior, comfort, looks, and is a great platform for mods as well. I can't believe the price point with all the great improvements made.
Buy a new one, you will not look back

I thought I would never leave my C6 GS M6 in someone else's driveway until I tested the C7 Z06 M8. No comparison and certainly NO regrets. Headed to Spring Mountain in Nov.
I am sure it will come to you and your son will come around to your way of thinking. Stay safe my friend

If you are a car guy, and can afford it (sounds like this is not an issue for you), you kind of have to upgrade to the C7! Loved my C6 Z06, but the C7 Z06 is a masterpiece in American automotive engineering, and you owe it to yourself to make the jump!
My 2016 Z06 is the most fun car I've owned, and the build quality is a marked improvement over the C6. The C7 generates a lot of passion for a reason!

I am letting my car go. Went to ECS today to determine the options to get when ordering the car and which mods will be done.
M7, Z07, 3LZ and a whole bunch of CF parts.
First round of mods will be more boost, meth, headers, cam, and E85/flex fuel sensor. (Shooting for an easy 700) Car will be ordered end of the month (right after new owner takes my car). I expect I should be road ready for March depending on how long it takes for the car to be delivered.
Round two will be a Paxton 2200, direct port meth and other go fast goodies. I want near four figure whpr.
I will check back with progress.

You'll love the interior. It's a much needed improvement between the two generations. Given that your current car made about 760rwhp you'll feel slower in the C7Z out of the box but it looks like you'll upgrade it right away so you should be good to go from the start.

I was in the same position you are in now. Sell the modified C6 Z06 and buy a new C7 Z06. I was on the fence for several months then I remembered what I thought after trading my 1994 C4 Z for a black C5. The differences between the cars was day and night. What a step forward the change from c4 to C5 was. So, to make a long story short I traded the C6 Z06 on a new M7 equipped C7 Z06 with the Z07 package. The jump in performance and handling was every bit as dramatic as the jump from C4 to C5.
Since then the car has competed in the Silver State Classic challenge and I have done several track days at Inde Motorsports Ranch and at Spring mountain with absolutely no regrets except, after 5000 miles, it is time to replace those pilot Sport Cup 2 tires!
Pull the trigger on the new Z06/Z07. You will not regret it!

That's roughly 650 to the tires, great package, great company, but again it would be a step backwards for this owner. We were discussing a 1000+ HP build on his original car just prior to this offer coming in. Which I agree that letting it go is the best option.

I got my C7Z in December, 2014. My C6Z sat parked next to it in the garage and basically didn't move until I sold it in late July. I had no desire to drive it after I had the C7Z. The C6Z is/was a great car but not in the same league as the C7Z.
