AFE VS HALLTECH install questions?
I'm reading more and more issues with the halltech unit on install and radiator hose warming pipe up. Have you guys seen the same deal with the AFE intake?

Yeah I'm reading that the radiator hose sits on maf t7be heats it all up. Halltech has a bigger box but seems bigger box leads to issues

The line coming from the T fitting must be shorten to avoid the MAF sensor. That sensor registers air temps inside the air intake system, but if you follow directions, and cut that line shorter, then zip tie it, it is nowhere near the MAF.

Subfloor did this and he said lines still moved and touched maf. And I saw the other threads whete there were install problems. If there's going to be a issue I really want to make sure can be resolved
Post 5 here you can see how much the halltech touches and is close https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1590641345

Here is another professional install. The line is tucked out of the way of the MAF

You just need to get the install right the first time.
People having issues are just minor issues. The pull tie needs to in the right spot to hold the hoses away.
I can slip paper all the way around mine. I'm also running the nomex sleeve.

Reading more and more? I thought you put some of these on?

It's also borderline insulting to your average shade tree mechanic to say that this system should require "Professional Install". It's at most a 1.5 difficulty level on a scale of 1-5.

I think I need to redo the video instructions. I realize that some of the items that end up causing consternation need to be addressed.
Tomorrow we'll start on it.
Please note that the difference between Halltech and AfE might be the instant service we provide, even at 9:06 PM.

BTW, we ask for professional installation to move business to our dealers. We have 125 dealers, most of them right here on the forum. Taking there business away is not a good marketing move for us.

Not related to this at all. The Gen 2 moved the PCV line from the side of the intake tube to the hump hose connector to improve crankcase ventilation. We are making our system for one of the forums vendors that is going through CARB right now, so we wanted to get this done ahead of the curve.
The other change was having the factory port match the inlet and velocity stack for better flow. We also moved the airbox holes up a notch for easier installation.
The picture I just posted was on the shelf and I installed it in between posts. So you are correct, for most of us, this is an easy deal.
I think I emailed you back regarding the Nomex. Did you get my email?
