Default RPM rollbar INSTALLED in Z06 Vert

This past Weekend, Rob and James, from RPM, flew from Oregon to San Diego to personally install a roll-bar in my 2015 Z06 Vert.

IT IS A BEAUTIFUL THING!

I can't say enough positive things about these guys and this company. They are AWESOME!

Check out the pix. If you need a roll-bar for your car, this is absolutely the place to go.

Very nice. Is that a " bolt in " or a weld in? My other question has to do with driver/passenger fitment. Can you do a few pics of someone seated in the car? Or better yet, seated with helmets on?
Thanks.

The rollbar is a bolt in to the frame of the car. Sure - I'll post pictures with my helmet on later today.

Looks like anyone whose over 5 11 will have cool lumps on their heads sitting in that and hit a nice bump. Pain pills included? maybe seeing it wrong

Is a roll bar required to track a convertible?

Thanks.

I understand that the A Pillars in the vert are supposed to sustain roll over events. When the manufacturer has safety ratings that support that, most tracks/HPDE events do not require a roll bar in a vert.
I used to track an F-Type convertible and never needed a roll bar to participate.

I think it depends on the Club you race with. I run with the Porsche Club on the tracks around southern California and a roll-bar is REQUIRED for those events. Ask your club or the person responsible for the event.

I am 5' 10" and have plenty of clearance below the bar. Pics later.

Looks good. However, I was wondering whether this could be a hazard if you were driving around town without a helmet. It looks like one could potentially sustain a head injury during a relatively minor traffic accident given that the bar is so close to the seat.

The bar is actually above the seat. My head goes underneath the bar. The only think I am hitting is the back of the seat. And the seat can be adjusted lower as well to give more clearance.

I was thinking about the side to side motion associated with a side impact collision. It appears that the bars that run along the seat extend in front of the head rest. Not trying to be difficult, just curious.

good point. the motion to the right is fine. the motion to the left does come in contact with the bar depending on how you move your head. maybe put cushioning there to soften the blow. honestly didn't think about that. my main concern was a) making my car track legal, b) making sure I can see out the rearview mirror, c) find a reputable company who supports their product. RPM does it all

Absolutely great looking. Hope you can get some protection for daily driving. Then you have the best of both worlds.

Does this also offer any side protection across the doors?

OK thanks. I really appreciate it. I'm going to be checking many roll bars at SEMA and need as much information as possible.

Yes, they offer a 6-point that goes across the doors as well. It's removable. Call RPM for details.
