Default Differential Fill Plug Location ?

I want to check my differential fluid level, but I'm not exactly sure where the fill plug is. Is the fill plug located where circled in this picture? If so, where is the drain plug? I can't seem to find any DIY pics for C7's anywhere.

That is the drain plug. The fill plug is located on the pumpkin in front of the passenger side muffler. Can be accessed with a 3' 3/8" drive extension using a 3/8" drive ratchet.

Do you really need a 3 foot extension? Perhaps a 3 inch extension?

If you have anything over 500 miles on the car, change that fluid instead of just checking it. Trust me it will need it. I changed mine at 2k miles and wished I had done it sooner. Good news is you are good after that first change, just seems the breaking in is rough on the fluid.

Good question, I'll also await that answer as I'd assume it's the same on my Z51 model.

How much fluid does it take and what kind did you use? Thanks.

It's a 3 in extension. It's pretty easy to get to once you get the car jacked up.

Haha, I prefer the 3' extension which is easy to use after removing the passenger side muffler.

A flex head socket will do it by itself.

Is it a 3/8" size (looks like it is)? And do you think the below would work based on your experience?

I believe that includes the Z51 and Z06, but not the base model.
