Default 295-30-20/345-25-20 Pirelli??

Seeing if anyone has used the bigger pirelli tires. I like a little buldge of tires over my wheels and 345 on the 12 will be perfect

thanks

While I am sure they will fit fine, those pirelli 345s actually only have a tread width of 12" while the stock michelins have a 13" tread width. The pirelli is very tapered from the sidewall to the tread while the michelin is much more square. I don't think it will give you the wider look you are looking for.

I'm kinda supprised that the 345s only have 12" of tread. My 335's (Pirelli P-Zeros) have 12". I personnaly like the rounded sidewall look better than the Michelins square look. It has been my experience comparing my friends Z06's (stage 1) PSS's to my Pirelli's, that the Pirelli's stick better in the hard corners. It may be due to the Pirelli's softer compound (220 vs. 300) When it comes time to replace my Pirelli's, I'll probably go the 345 route as well. JMHO

Just curious, did anyone ever tried the 345 on the Z06 and what is the feedback?

Thx

Just change the rear sidewall to 30 instead of 25. Then you'll have a perfect match. The PZero Curvature of the sidewall makes the tire .5 inches larger than the 25 sport cup 2

You may find the 295/30-20 to be too tall for the front. the OEM 285/30-19 would convert to a 285/25-20 . If you did a 295/25-20 it would probably work, but are they available in that size. When changing wheel diameter it is important to make sure you can fit tires that will work. Buying the wheels and hoping to find a tire to fit can prove to be very expensive when no tires fit.

Title of this thread says 295/30-20

A 335/30-20 rear may be too tall if driven aggressively.

The treadwear rating of 300 on the Michelin pilot super sport tires provide a stickier tread than the Pirelli's, and the F1 goodyears with the 220 treadwear rating.

That kinda flys in the face of logic. My Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's have a 180 tread wear rating and they are "stickier" than my Pirelli's and stickier than the PSS's. Race tires commonly have ratings numerically lower than 100. Again, my experience with driving my friends Z06 with the Michelins (PSS) is that they are not as sticky as my Pirelli's. JMHO

The M PSS and PSC2's have new technology in them that allows for great stick and better wear. That technology was developed from their race tires and why at LeMans, Daytona, Sebring and other endurance races the M race tires can be double and triple stinted.

The Predecessor to the PSS (300) was the PS2 (220). The Predecessor to the PSC2 (180) was the PSC (60). The PSS and PSC2 have better grip than the tires they replace and still get better wear.

The "logic" is the new technology.
