Called the service department because it seems they do not like taking the initiative to let me know what is going on. The guy on the phone told me the direcrtor took my car to 135 on the highway to test it.. WOW!! I took them video and told them to do a functions check. They told me they would NOT be driving my car 130 MPH and come to find out they did.. They said they have not found any issues and even though they have not seen or heard of this issue, GM isn't doing anything because there is not a code.

Looks like the Texas 1/2 mile. I was there also. I ran in track mode each pass and this exact thing happened on one pass but not on another. I also datalogged and PDR'd each pass. If it were converter lock why wouldn't it be consistent?

Yes it was and that is my question. Why would it only do it sometimes. I have my car back and will be taking it to another dealership tomorrow. I called GM and started a complaint to see if they can help with this. No explanation is not good enough for me. Aggravating the kiss my *** attitude I am receiving from the dealership and GM rep for over the phone. To add fuel to the fire, I left specific instruction to NOT wash the car. I am very picky with that. Well, the car was washed and I now have the light swirls and scratches on the car..

I spoke with another dealership and will be dropping off my car on Monday with them. They understand the complaint and want to find out the answers for me from GM. If it is supposed to do that, great, but what are the conditions this should happen etc.

Where is Tadge when you need answers..lol

You are certain that this isn't just a PDR glitch?

Watching the video, it looks odd.

Are you saying that you felt it before you watched the video?

It happens EXACTLY at the same instant that the PDR displays your 1/4 mile time.

Watch the video with your eye on the 1/4 mile time...The tach dips to exactly 5k RPMs at the instant the 1/4 mile time appears.

My theory is that you nothing actually happened. The PDR just didn't record everything correctly.

Or...the car has some weird programming to optimize performance during a timed 1/4 mile run.

Very strange.

I wonder if GM regrets the PDR. LOL.

Dave, if you close your eyes to take the visual factor out of it, you can clearly hear it drop RPMS.

Yep.

Something is definitely happening. It is a drop of 100 RPMs to 5k RPMs right at the instant that the PDR reports 1/4 mile split.

I went back and watched the PDR because I was hearing the sound change during the half mile passes.

Good find. I would like to know under what conditions or set of circumstances this should happen..
