Default HorsePowerAddicts 10.18@136 +400 da

Took our 15 Z A8 back out Friday to Atco raceway. Weather was warmer than i expected and DA calculators showed +300 to 400 DA.

Only mods to the car are an AFE CAI, IW 18% lower, HPA custom tune and an 18" drag radial. Pass was made on the stock 19" fronts. 93 octane pump gas for now... 100% stock exhaust with 4 cats still.

Car dynos right at 650/715 on our dynojet SAE.

Runs were made with a half tank of gas. I scaled the car at the track and it came in at 3475 without driver. With driver raceweight was 3675.

We will be putting our Alumastar 17" frontrunners on and going right to cecil in better air with the same tune and mods.

9's coming soon with just the intake, lower, and tune on pump gas.

Bill, the Innovators West 18% is a crank pulley that drives the supercharger (and everything else on the belt) 18% faster than stock.

The power is there for 9s without a doubt.

HP Addicts, this is basically the same combo I'm planning for my car. Do you think you'd pick up a little more power with a Halltech intake? Which intake is still a question for me. I believe I've read that the Halltech flows quite a bit more CFM which might make a difference with the 18% pulley if so. Truth?

Is it possible to do a 9% upper pulley in addition to the 18% lower or would this be inadvisable? Thanks!

You guys trapped little better, but a couple weeks ago a buddy of mine went 10.1@133 with drop in air filter and tune only....it was at the ctsv event..both impressive, but mod for mod id have to think with more boost and a real intake he would have seen 9s that day.

You could run the upper and lower. I doubt the upper will give you more than 20 hp and for the cost of install it is not worth it imo unless you already have the blower off.

We went 130 in good air bone stock. Then 135 in good air with just and intake and tune. Air was not great Friday mid day. Congrats to your buddy. Currently there are only 3 known(posted on here) C7Z's to run a 9 second pass and all had many mods to get there. With a low 9.8 as the current fastest. Have your buddy do some mods and back up that claim with a slip.

Thread says tune right in it. We would never increase boost without tuning. I personally wouldn't run even an afe intake without tuning after seeing the logs before and after for myself.

I think you underestimate the stock computer's ability to compensate for increased air mass. There's a limit somewhere, but we're not at it.

It's not an old speed density system, so as long as you don't mess with the MAF (which is why I've avoided CAIs so far) I think the computer can compensate nicely. Between the MAF and the O2s it knows when more fuel is needed.

Most tuners can't resist the urge to lean it out a little for more power once they see how fat it is at WOT (or the LS motors were), so often times they'll take away the very safety margin they aim to be creating!

Just my opinion, don't blow your motor up because a stranger on the Internet said something.

How was stability with 19"/18" setup?
What psi are you at both fronts and rears?
Thanks!

Nice pass! I dont know, I cant see loosing the Warr. For 2 tenths. Really thought there would respond better to those mods. Air seems to be a major factor.

You really can't compare unless you run the cars on the same day at the same track. If you run them side by side i bet the difference would be more than 2 tenths.
