@#@$*() my front windshield scratched by wiper blade
WTH: I thought my windshield had a smear on it today from running the wipers to clean off a small amount of bug spots. Also, the car has never been in the rain. It's always been showroom clean. The wipers blades were new. It now has a 15 inch long fine scratch over the middle of the windshield. :confused Polished all day but I can still see it! Replaced the wiperblades with Quantum RainX to avoid another occurrence.

might of had a small piece of grit or something on the rubber. Down in FL we have to be extra careful of the sandy dust before turning on the wipers due to that exact problem.

Same thing happened to me several months ago and windshield wasn't even dirty. Just a bit of dust on the wiper blade evidently. Bothered me until I did a couple of track days and the track day pitting greatly outweighs the minor scratch! These windshields are evidently quite soft and scratches and chips are unfortunately inevitable. Cost of having fun I reckon! In fairness, I've looked at a number of track cars and damn near all of them have pitted windshields.

Posted this some time ago. My windshield is trashed ar 5.5k. Sandblasted, no chips. I got all sorts of nonsense like following too close etc. been driving HP cars for a long time. My work car that gets driven in snow , slush, etc is in much better shape. Something about these windshield is different. May try coating the next one

Might need to try the film that Motor Trend uses for the car comparisons. It's like a clear bra for windshields.
