2LZ vs 3LZ
Question for you guys... been looking for a Z06 2LZ for quite a while now and have been wondering about the difference between the 2LZ and 3LZ interiors.
Seems the big differences are the suede windshield pillars (not a big fan of suede... just me), leather dash and door panels along with napa leather vs mulan (sp?) leather. I also understand the custom color stitching is only available with the 3LZ.
My question is those that went with the 3LZ over the 2LZ... have you been happy with the 3LZ choice? When ordering the cost difference is around $5000 and my dealer said the 2LZ has more bang for the buck. Thanks! Mike

I am going through the same process because I am getting ready to order a Laguna blue with black interior and the competition seats so part of the 3LZ (Napa seating) goes away (but none of the added option cost) when the competition seats are ordered. At this point I am leaning towards 2LZ + PDR.

I have 2LZ + PDR and am very happy. However, I saw a few cars with 3LZ and thought the entire interior was richer and distinctive. If money isn't a problem, go with 3LZ.

I have a 2LZ + PDR cause it was IN STOCK vs. having to order a 3LZ...I'm happy with the 2LZ, but I still really wish I had gotten the 3LZ...there is a much more profound leather smell...the leather dash is nice, the faux suede pillars/headliner are nicer...It's just flat NICER. Period. The question you need to ask is: Its is worth the extra money? Don't forget, a lot of 2LZ people also got the $1700 PDR option.
As the above poster stated...if you have the money and it's in stock, get the 3LZ, every time!!!! I might actually get suede put in my cause it bugs me...To each their own!
Lastly, colors matter too...mine is all black, so people think it's not much different (but I do)...however if you get a different color combo, then the accents are different.

One point to consider is the contrast colors they add, like across the top of the driver's dash. If you have an Adrenaline Red interior, it's very bold. If you have black, you might not see it. So the more contrast you have in your interior color, the more 3LZ makes a difference.
Hope that helps! 2LZ+PDR might be close but you're always going to be "one step shy", so if it bugs you now, get the 3LZ. If you find the perfect car with 2LZ+PDR and it's in-hand at a discount, take it.... not like a 2LZ Z06 is a poverty car, it's still amazing!
You will never, however, likely regret spending the couple of dollars extra. You may regret not doing so. Unless the price difference is material to you, buy the 3LZ.

Yeah I didn't think about the PDR being included with the 3LZ... makes the difference around $3200. I firmly believe if ordering one get what you want... no regrets! At 62 I feel you only live once.
I wonder how the contrast would be with the dark gray interior and two tone seats?
Thanks for all the comments... Mike

Mike,
When I ran the numbers the difference is $3,705 (once you add PDR to the 2LZ) which isn't significant at the Z06 price point. If I was getting the GT seats I would get the 3LZ without hesitation but with the competition seats the seating material is the same in the 2LZ and 3LZ packages. Before ordering I plan to find a dealer within driving range that has a black 2L and 3L interior on the lot so that I can make the decision based upon a side by side comparison.
I will probably convince myself that I am just being stubborn about being charged for something I am not getting and order a 3LZ with the competition seats. But it reminds me years ago when the GMC salesperson was trying to sell me a 100K bumper to bumper warranty for my new diesel pickup. I wasn't interested but I asked him what the price difference was between the extended warranty for the gas and diesel pickups and it was the same price regardless of engine. But the diesel engine already came with a 5 yr/100K warranty while at that time the gas engine warranty was 4 yr/50K and when I pointed that out he quit trying to sell me so at least that shut down the sales pitch
I just retired at 55 so now I have plenty of time to waste on such decisions.

Looks good! Now you guys got me thinking about a 3LZ... love the red stitching with the gray leather. Do you find the mulan leather softer than the napa leather?

I definitely recommend seeing the 3LZ in person before deciding. Pictures just don't do it justice. In saying that, I went with the 2LZ because I intend to upgrade the seats soon.

I was about to go for a 2LZ, but then saw the Twilight Blue designer package and had to step up to the 3LZ. I just love my AW with those blue seats and accents. Have not seen another one like it yet.

Thats the beauty of a special order... you can get the car built exactly how you want... sounds like an awesome combination.
