Z06 Stingray-you can laugh-I did!
We all know that a Z06 in cold weather is bad news. I have a set of Contis DSWs from my Z51 stingray and was told they would fit. They do with a small spacer in the front wheels!!
That's the good news... the bad is they don't look too good on a wide bodied car. But you know I now can drive in cold weather w/o fear, I can save some miles on the stock tires and it gave me a good chance to clean and wax the black rims. Plus I no longer have the front in grunt in turns up front.
Laugh all you want........I chucked.....everytime I see it I say geesh!!! 2 3 months I can live with that especially since it is dark to and from work.
The tires on the donor car a 14 stingray...

Holy smokes... I guess this really demonstrates the difference in width between the Z and the Stingray. I am with you though....safety first if she is being driven throughout the winter. I'de rather be able to drive it than to have it locked up as a summer only vehicle.
It is still something only a Vette guy would notice.

Winters aren't bad here in Texas but if they were I wouldn't penny pinch on buying an extra set of tires, wheels or both. But I definitely don't like that look. It's fugly! FYI I didn't laugh I shook my head.

That's not quite right. There is a reason why no Military vehicle ever has wide tires. There is also much reason that snow tires are typically deeper in tread and thinner in width. Wide tires are very ineffectual in dissipating accumulation buildup in the tread. It simply builds up and reducing steering ability completely. Thinner tires enable better grip as the accumulation of mud or snow in the tread can dissipate through the tread at each side of the tire.

Always been told:
Snow tires will typically a very soft compound (allow flexing in cold temps)
Will contain a lot of sipes (cuts) that will actually decrease in size (bite the snow) when in contact and open when not allow snow to be ejected.

OP.. Doesn't look that bad from the side.. Definitely looks like you shouldn't have any rock chipping issues. Hope it works out.

Why not just get some spacers to move the wheels/tires out a bit?
