Can you safely lower the 2016 Z06?
Hi all. Just bought a 2016 Z06 and don't know too much about them YET. Please forgive me if this ends up being a dumb questions but here goes,,,
I owned a 2003 Z06 and lowered it by buying those longer bolts. Someone told me that you can lower the 2016 by simply adjusting the stock bolts and that you no longer have to buy longer bolts.
1) is this true?
2) If so, with all the new technology that's put into this car, is it safe to adjust the suspension? Will lowering it affect the automatic suspension settings?
On a separate note...
When it comes to exhausts, Im leaning towards the Corsa extreme with the double helix X pipe. Is deleting the cats an option and if so, what's the process?
Thanks a lot all. Glad to be back on the corvette scene.

You could lower the C5 on stock bolts as well.

Not that hard at all. There is a thread on here somewhere that I will try to find. Took me less than an hour for front and back. I jacked the car up in the front or back depending on what end I was doing, lowered the car with jack stands with rags on them on to the leaf spring near the adjustment bolt to relieve the pressure. Turned the bolt all the way down and back up a turn, raised the car, removed stands, and dropped car to the ground. I lowered the car on to both right and left jack stands at the same time rather than one at a time for each side. That's it in a nutshell.

I'm as low as you can go on stock bolts and there is no way in hell I could go any lower. I'm already scraping pulling out of my driveway. If I hit the angles right, I won't hit. But, I'm as low as I can go.
I'd stay the handling is better, although I just got the car back yesterday from it's first set of mods.

Just did mine. Stock bolts. All the way. Only came down about 1/2 inch from where it was from factory. Didn't come down nearly as low as the c6z. Looks better, but not a huge change.

Can the rear be brought down without touching the front? I don't think I can go much lower then stock with the stage 3 aero on NYC streets, but don't care for the rake, I want level spacing.

One suggestion that will save thousands later on after lowering the car..... GET IT ALIGNED !! Camber and toe the tire killer will change guaranteed.
Z07's do not drop nearly as much as a regular Z06 with stock bolts. If you cut the rear bushings in half you can get an extra 3/8 inch or so. But it is considerably more work pulling them out to cut or doing it in the car. Sure helps remove the ridiculous AWD look! Of all the current high performance track cars built for the street the C7 has by far the most body to wheel clearance. I heard the ride height guy at GM went out drinking the night before final designs were required to be turned in!

I wish badly to lower my Z like I did with the C6. I lowered the C6 all the way down on stock bolts and got a wheel alignment afterwards. All that scraped slightly was the plastic air dam. Now with my stage 2 Z, I have to pace a rubber mat from Lowes on the driveway to prevent damage to the front splitter. It is fine going into my driveway, but exiting it drags the mat a bit until the street level offsets the front.
So I have no way to lower the Z in this driveway. SUX
