I would like something that will fit on the stock wheels and that won't affect the handling to much..

With that power you need drag tires to hook up, and they don't corner well. DOT legal track tires (like the PSC2 ZPs that come on the C7 Z07) will corner super but won't hold that much power unless you are patient with the throttle.

Let's see... stock rims.....750+rwhp...... There really isn't a tire made that will hook. You need sidewalls to get straight line traction.

mickey Thompson makes a 335/25/20, it's new but supposed to be great for straight line traction.

I almost bought the Mickey's too, but they are having a little bit of trouble getting them to balance well and even at that I don't think you will be happy on the road. I got some reproduction Z06 rears in 19X12 and have Nitto Nt05R's 345-30-19 and they will deliver 1.60 sixty foots and drive great on the hwy. I just drove mine approximately 500 miles in the last few days and they are awesome. JMHO

I've heard from my buddy with a C7 Z06 that they sway a LOT up top. He said he put them on his car on stock wheels (335/20) went to the nearest high way, did a pull to 140, car was just fine and planted while doing so, but then let off and the car changed a lane by itself. He went home and put the stock tires back on lol. My guess is in order to help make a 20 inch drag radial bite like Mickey is famous for, they had to soften up the sidewall a ton for lateral traction, hence the sway.

They are the craziest tires I've ever driven on and I returned them after a year (MT took them back no problem). They change lanes on their own.

Someone said that if you switch to non-runflat in the front they are OK, but I had no way to try that.

So not the stock size, but I went to a Nitto 05R in 345/30/19. Although it wiggles a bit when I roll into the gas, it's no more than I'd expect at the power level I'm pushing (850+ RWHP). I don't get any kind of snap overseer but admittedly, I've got no comparison with this power on the 20" rears.

I still have the stock run flats on the front which some folks say is a mis-match but I haven't seen an issue yet, and the car has been "at speed" more than once.

Letting off at the speeds these cars are capable of is as crucial as how you accelerate, which can cause some issues if not done in the right way.

The mismatch doesn't make itself known at high straight line speeds. It can be a real butt clincher in high speed turns where the front turns better than the rear and the back end comes around. If you are going to mismatch tires for general use you always want the best handling tire on the rear. For drag racing you just have to be careful when turning that steering wheel.

There are 3 types of tires
Those that corner well
Those that hook for straight line racing
Those that go all season but do nothing great

No such tire exists that can do even 2 of the 3. Just pick one and give up the rest. Best of luck. NT05R will most likely be your best bet, but they'll spin too at those power levels.

Just another expense to absorb with this car, new wheels, 18/10 front 19/12 rear, I'll be all over the R888s, GREAT street tire, then I will also be able to run my Pirelli scubs on the track!

What's your opinion of the road noise on the 888's?

They are noticeable for noise, but not a big trade off for the grip you are looking for.

I know a lot of folks talk about the noise, but I've been running the Toyo R888s for years on my other two vettes.

I really don't think they are very loud, never had a problem with them.

I heard they were much quieter than the R888 but have a wear rating of 60, so yes, a lot of $$$ for a short lived tire. I just bumped my C6 to 750rwhp and hesitate putting on drag radials for daily driving given their soft wandering under deceleration. How do you think the Trofeo R's will handle that kind of power?
