What oil filter are you guys using and why???
Getting ready to have mine done and just wondering. I'm using Mobil 1 15W50 because of it being supercharged. Just trying to decide the best oil filter..

Just did mine. Used Pennzoil Syn 5w-30 because of the "oil web site" and I used the K&N HP-1017 filter as the GM filter wasn't on the shelf and neither was the M1-110.

Is there a reason you're not using 5W-30 for daily usage vs. the heavier 15W-50? I thought the higher viscosity oil should only be for track usage.

RTFM. 15W50 is for track use only. Too thick for regular use....especially around the 'burgh......

Stock AC filter. Haven't seen anything any better. Have used AC filters for the last 25 years and haven't had any issues with any of them.

Mobil M1-113. It is made by Champion who makes a lot of the better filters.

I was using the OEM filter (PF64) but after some personal research I switched to the new all synthetic filter media Purolator "Boss" #PBL12222.
The Purolator synthetic media is constructed different than the Royal Purple or the Amsoil filter media (looks like a better design to me). Go to their site and check it out, I did.
I have read a couple filter tests and the Purolator "Pure One" blended media filter usually ranks right up there near the top regardless of price, according to Purolator the new all synthetic "Boss" is now their best.
