Pilot Super Sport mount and balance cost?
I'm in Redmond, WA and Discount wants $300 to mount and balance my tires. I realize I'm definitely paying more since I didn't buy them there, but seems a tad high. Anyone have any experience paying something less or is that about right since these are a nightmare to mount?

$40 per tire around here....so that makes $160 total.

I paid $160 at America's tire. If I had purchased my tires there, it would've been about 45 bucks for mount and balance. And they price match the tires from Tire Rack. I saved the tax though.

Not sure why, but I can't send a PM to you. This is what I was going to send:
I've done the Tire Rack drop ship a few times now at Tru Line, Inc in Bellevue and I can't say enough about the service they provide.
I don't have a Corvette yet but we run Michelin PSS's on my wife's Audi and have used True Line to install two sets of PSS's, including Road Force Balance and alignment. If I recall correctly I paid $300 or so for installation, Road Force balance, and full alignment last time I was in. That buys me a balance anytime I need it, alignments down the road if I notice a problem while driving or the tires don't wear evenly, and rotations. They also do suspension work, if you want to upgrade shock, bars, end links, etc. These guys are the best.
Tru Line, Inc
So, not the cheapest but if I've got to choose between spending $300 at Discount or Tru Line...I'm going Tru Line all the way.
Hope this helps,
Mike

Local Chevy dealer can't mount the new ZP Michelins, so farms them out to a local TirePro shop that has struggled to do a good mounting job, charges $100 a wheel to mount and balance on the new Z's and doesn't damage the wheels.
Their normal charge to do non-ZP M on my C6 Z06 is $25/wheel.

Dealer said it took them 5 hours to mount with more than one guy per wheel....2400 installed with tire tax and they told me I was lucky I negotiated the all in price prior. Prior to this, I had another company quote me same and ordered them in. When they arrived, they told me install would be $100 per tire regardless of the original agreement; they obviously read the Michelin mounting update. I obviously passed on them; your word is your word in my books.

paid 25/tire out the door here in new Hampshire. 1st place I went to quoted me 300. Second place tried and couldn't and the third did it for the 25/tire and did an excellent job. I went back recently and had new tires put on and it was the same price.

There is something wrong there. Discount Tire in Tucson charged me $16.00 a wheel to mount and balance my cup 2's. It took an hour with no drama.

mounting Cup RunFlats are the "issue"...they are so stiff the difficulty getting the bead to seat is the caveat...without having done them at least once, it will take a shop a little trial and error....my shop got it done @ $50 per wheel.....was well worth it
