I can call this right now:
Viper crushes Z06 in performance. Heat soak blah supercharger blah oversteer blah blah blah.
Z06 crushes Viper in livability. Too loud blah too ugly blah too ridiculous blah blah blah.
Buy the viper if you're hardcore, buy the Z06 if you're a normal person.
Lots of cool overproduced videos, loud exhaust sounds, and drifting.
Brilliant, magnificent, and mega sprinkled evenly. Americans catching up to Europeans on the track, still no Porsche or Ferrari. Bargain. Never could drive in Great Britain. We are so much more refined than those silly Americans.
Tea, legs crossed the girly way, peacoats.
And on that bombshell..........

Bingo. Liveability is the single reason I don't own a Viper.

Good point.
Another good point.
It's up to GM marketing to make something with it...IOW, make it work in the marketplace.
IF the car is TRULY revolutionary (a high-powered hybrid, for example), the name may work in its favor (an odd name for an odd car).
But it will be tricky either way.
"Hellcat" creates buzz and sells cars. This is the United States auto market we are talking about, not the Dead Poets Society.

"Hellcat" sounds real cool if you're 16.

Top Gear
Just finished watching the episode....
They didn't really compare them in any measurable metric as far as actual performance. It's more of a cat and mouse missile lock top of game. It has some great photography and is kind of cool to watch, but I think it will disappoint enthusiasts for sure.
They only tested the Viper ACR with the stig on the test track as well.
All in all, the show is not terrible. It isn't nearly as bad as the American Top Gear. The photography is still A+ and the sound is great. New hosts are rusty but they might warm up.
What did you guys think?

Awful show in general but the ACR/Z06 segment was pointless.
We learned nothing about the cars and they were basically used for a poorly designed theatrics piece.
Also, the ACR lap didn't look like it was wrung out properly.
The only decent thing about the show was LeBlanc doing the nomad. That was fun.
Lack of news and doubling up on the celebrity segment was just awful.

That segment was such a disappointment I feel compelled to post in two threads! The alleged big feature of the Z06 vs. the ACR was an absolute joke and that show was a total waste of my time.

That show is even more lame than I expected it to be. It is actually worse than American Top Gear and that's saying something.
