Default This is why I'm waiting for the 2.9 Whipple!

I installed the whipple 2.9 kit on my 2016 escalade and couldnt be happier. Im positive that the whipple will be a bolt on 100 rwhp increase when released over the 1.7 currently.

Little info on my escalade
91 pump gas
2wd on 26 inch rims.
ONLY 6.5 PSI BOOST!!
Top pic is dyno of canned whipple tune vs my buddys tune from matt @gptuning. You can see nice increase of power over across entire curve.

Bottom is gptuning tune vs preblower numbers. I did have afe intake and 3.5 cat back MagnaFlow on pre blower install.

523 rwhp/540 rwtq and vs pre blower pass some parts of power band have over 170 rwhp more and 160 foot pounds torque. Next mod is ARH headers with non catted y pipe. Also it was 74 degrees in shop vs 63 degrees on pre blower dyno.

Overall very happy with the whipple numbers. Going to the track next week. I want to run 12.50s on 26" rims.

It's nice to see some numbers from a Superflow chassis dyno. Knowing the Superflow actually loads the engine, as opposed to the Dyno Jet accelerometers.

What were the test parameters? Normally it's based on time. 2500 - 6000 rpm over how many seconds?

Subscribing to this. Very interested in the Whipple 2.9, really hope it will fit under the stock hood.

I've got result from 3 customers that upgraded to a 2300 edelbrock. With 3 psi more then stock only 50 rwhp gain is max. The 2300 is not worth it. There is amother thread on here with magnacharger 2300. I'm sure results will be the same.

1.7 with 9 percent lower and intake will make more power then a 2300 with 2 psi more boost then stock and save you thiusands. 1.7 is very efficient and I'm not going to spend 5500 bucks for a bigger blower and only get 50 rwhp.

2.9 is only way to go.

I'm happy with my ProCharger F-1A and American Racing headers making 731rwhp. Again if I or should I say when I add meth and turn up the boost a little I will be over 900rwhp. Maybe I'm missing something here..

Im.for 1/4 mile racing best bang for buck. Take your car to the track due to the way procharger makes power with 713 rwhp your car will probably run mid 10s. If you take it to the track post up some times would love to see it. It's a nice set up buy like we've seen on feedback here you have got to make a lot more power for prochrger car to hang with roots car.

Example the car the Fran set up procharger at 780 rwhp ran 10.6@130. Ratt g here saw same car at street races that night get beat by pullied and tuned z06s.

Overall im.just looking for best power gains for money spent. True you can do 900 rwhp with a prochrger but with meth kit it's like 16k and I think that the Whipple 2.9 will be a great bang for buck option not to mention just bolt it in and your done very easy install.

When this unit comes out I can't wait to try it out..... it will whine also which I like. My 2.9 Whipple I only at 6.5 pounds of boost and it sounds nice

I'm not sure where you are getting $16,000 for my build with meth. Right now I have $12,000 in it. I can add meth for $1600. I don't track my car and wanted mid to upper power for the street. Let's face it most Z06's will never see the track. I can't see anyone getting 900rwhp for much less then what I paid.

Maybe it will be like the Edelbrock everyone was so excited about. Or we could go with Callaway. Lol. Want to talk about bang for your buck. I'm not trying to start problems I'm just stating facts also. Maybe the 2.9 will come and maybe it will fit under the hood. Hell maybe I will get one if they are that good.

I know for a fact that 2015/2016 Mustang GT's are running the Whipple 2.9 and most of them are well over 700rwhp!

I'm going off of ease of install also. Even if doesn't fit under oem hood I'd like more cowl on this car anyway lol

There's certainly nothing wrong with the taller hood, but would result in added cost and takes away from the OEM stealthy appearance, which I like.

I guess a hood mod kit, like Calloway, would work. It would at least maintained a low profile
