Steering wheel rattle
First drive to work this morning with 18 miles on my new 2016 Z06-Z07, I have a slight rattle in and around the steering wheel. I haven't been able to isolate it just yet.
I'm the kind of guy that would rather fix it myself than take it to a dealer unless I absolutely have to.
Anybody else have a similar issue and been able to locate it?
Thanks in advance,

yes my horn pad/air bag clunks over bigger hits to the suspension and it's super annoying. you can replicate it by hitting the wheel and prevent it from happening by holding reverse pressure on an edge of the horn.

Has anybody been able to get this resolved by their dealer?
I asked because I had this looked at twice, the first time tech said he "took care of it" and it was slightly better, but still rattling over bumps. Yesterday, I had it in for service and the tech looked at it again but wrote he could not "duplicate customer concern".
There is a noticeable "wobble" if you press lightly on the upper left hand side of the horn/airbag pad and if I hold that in, or lift lightly from the bottom, the clunk over bumps is gone.
Going back in tomorrow as they owe me a part and want to address this again.
Thanks!

FWIW - There's a thread somewhere on the C7 General board about a rattle coming from the dash pad trim above the gauges near the driver's window. One of the posters there put a "shim" of some sort under the trim and solved his problem.
That is a different issue from mine and the OP's however...

Sorry to start up an old thread, but did anyone here ever get this resolved? My dealer keeps saying "unable to replicate issue" and the sound goes away if i hold the horn cover while driving but starts right up if I let go

I ended up trading mine for a 17 that has rear hatch squeaks and rattles instead. I sure miss my old steering wheel.

I hear you man, I had crazy rattles and squeaks that took several trips to the dealership to get fixed. Now I have this horn cover sound and the same sound coming from the passenger side seat belt area. Sorry to hear about the sounds on your 17 they get very frustrating.

Burning Brakes
Bumping an old thread but i was able to fix this on my car last night. I tore the underside of the dash apart thinking the rattle was coming from my alky control box down there but after all that finally discovered it was the steering wheel airbag/horn making the noise. I pulled the thing out and on the back side are 3) plastic prongs with springs on them. I covered the ends of these prongs with 1 strip of felt tape each and put it back together (did not even need to disconnect the airbag wires or anything). I made sure not to cover the sides of the springs much as I assume these are what you push against when activating the horn and i did not want a chance of the horn getting stuck. The drive to work was so much better this morning. Amazing how much a little rattle can drive you nuts sometimes.
Pic "borrowed" from someone else's youtube video showing 2 of the 3 "prongs"
I ran the tape over the ends of the prongs and these protruding tabs on the sides. Seems to hold it all snug enough to solve the rattles
