Check out the thread below. Tech Contributor Bill Dearborn has a link in post#4 to a .pdf doc that has the Service Manual procedure:

It's a straight vac and fill. Empty system, attach vacuum and suck out all the air, then switch to the fill and pull the fluid in.

I've tried this a few times now and no fluid is coming out of the bleeder valve on the left. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or is there something wrong th the car.

As long as the tube fills I wouldn't use the brass bleeders. I used the brass bleeders before I figured out the vinyl tube.

Rick,
Since you think the car is running properly can you post a picture of the level of coolant in the reservoir. That would be most helpful in determining if other reservoirs are filled properly or not.

A tip for those who want to cycle their pump with the engine off. You don't need a tech 2 or a special back ordered switch. Simply provide 12 volts to the left side of fuse 38. One source of power is the hot terminal stud on the left side of the fuse block. For those who want to be ultra safe, use an inline 15 amp fuse in the jumper wire. If you are careful, it's not necessary. I am actually planning on running a wire to the interior of the car so I can cycle the pump in the staging lanes. I have ordered the Fasterproms tank.

What is the advantage of using the GSpeed switch or jumping the fuse vs. just starting the car?

In the staging lanes, starting the car heats up the motor and the intercooling bricks. The idea is to have a cool intake charge during a run. If you are asking what the advantage is during the purging process, watch the video LeaguaSeca provided.

383vett..........I understand the advantage of starting the pump without running the engine while in the staging lanes. My question pertained to the purging procedure (I should have been more clear.) So, from the video, the advantage is convince. Being conservative and "fiscally responsible" i.e. cheap ***, I don't want to spend $40 on a switch (that's on back order, anyway) or risk an electrical problem jumping the fuse if it's not necessary.

All the switch dies is apply 12 volts to the left side of fuse 38.

Sorry my bad. 38 is the 15 amp fuse right next to the big 61 relay. It's to the left of 61

It's the grey-blue 15 amp fuse next to the big relay. It takes a couple of seconds for the pump to ramp up but you can hear it.

Just a thought. Rather than draining the coolant via the drain on the reservoir (kind of a PITA,) couldn't you just suck the coolant out via a vacuum tool? My local auto parts store will borrow me a vacuum tool for free. What's the downside of draining the system using this method?
