Default Exhaust sound/valve position

Saw something like this other day & someone made kinda snide remark "look under your car", so I did & this is what I discovered. I'll post a pic too. Using a bright flashlight you see the "2" pipes from engine only run into outside portion of the huge mufflers (one each side). Scooch way under & look at fwd end where pipe from engine enters the mufflers. If the outside pipe valves are open then all or most exhaust is run straight out the back w/o hardly any going thru mufflers. If valves are closed, exhaust is forced thru 4 nickel size holes in the fwd portion of the outside exhaust tailpipe which is fed to inside exhaust pipe tru muffler which is capped on fwd end to prevent exhaust from going anywhere but out tailpipes. "HOWEVER", that inside pipe has "LOTS" of perforations which allow exhaust from outside tailpipe (only pipe from engine) to receive exhaust after pushing thru "muffler" reducing sound. To see this it helps to be thin/small head This is my story & I'm sticking to it!
