ZO6 ride compared to Z51 w/MRC
Is the ZO6 ride much harsher that my 15 Z51 with MRC? I would imagine the ride of the 2017 GS will be similar to my Z51 MRC car. Am I correct?
Thanks, Mike

I think the 1L and 2L cars ride really close to the Z51 cars if not better. The Z07 cars however, can be much harsher for day to day driving in Sport or Track mode over a Z51.

Traded '14 Z51 for '16 Z both of course have MRC so to my old tired butt they feel same in tour but tad stiffer in Sport & I don't use Track, (I don't track & prefer nannies-WUS- I know). Do prefer Sport just because steering is very light/touchy in Tour. I have found myself just resting hand on wheel & pulling it off-line in Tour. JMO

I have driven the Z51 and the Z06 (Z07) on the street and on the track. I must say I prefer the Z06 because it can go from a soft suspension in Tour mode to a a very firm suspension on Track. When I am on a freeway I often move to Track mode since I love the feel of the tight suspension on a relatively smooth surface. I drive my Z daily and most of the time I am in Sport mode. Absolutely not too harsh.

I have driven both versions. Not a big difference on the street. I drive my Z07 daily and have taken long drivers 3+ hours in absolute comfort. I am completely pleased with my decision and have never looked back.

There have been several previous threads on this and I was trying to find my initial post comparing the two but I can't seem to find it.
First, let's recognize that ride is very subjective and personal and the it will also depend a lot on the roads you ride on. I'm sure if you have very good roads even a go kart will ride smooth. I live 3 miles down a relatively poorly maintained state gravel road. I also almost daily drive my C7Z and a C7 Z51 with MRC before that. I am very sensitive to ride quality.
When I traded in my C7 Z51 for my C7 Z06 (non-Z07) I intentionally took some back roads that were very bumpy to the dealer and back. Driving them back to back like that on less than ideal roads you can really tell the difference. My synopsis was that a non-Z07 Z06 rode in tour mode about like a C7 Z51 with MR shocks rode in sport mode. Yes, it was stiffer and it also was louder from the larger tires but it's objectionable to me.
If you're considering a Z07 car then just look at the thread that lays out the hard differences in the suspension parts. I know that lots of folks are very happy with the Z07 on the street and I am very happy for them. I elected not to get a Z07 because of the 62% stiffer springs and less dynamic range in the shocks.
Ideally try to drive the options on some representative roads to where you will be normally driving. That's the only way to know for sure.

Gravel road?
OMG, did I read that right, you live on a gravel road. Man you need to move! Just teasing but seriously

Safety Car
Depends mainly on the quality of the roads you drive on. Drove our stage 2 Z06 this year on over 4,500 mile road trip and it was just wonderful. Conversely, on last year's road trip on lousy roads, the ride of a Z06 can be a bit much, especially hour after hour.
