Default Out with the old, in with the new(er)

I just drove this 2016 2LZ M7 home yesterday after selling my 2000 last week, after 16+ years of faithful service.
From this:

to this:

I took it across mostly country roads from the dealer - all I can say is 'wow'! I'm looking forward to many great years with this one as well.

Not sure how to break this to you, but your steering wheel was installed upside down.

But seriously, congrats on the upgrade

Great looking new toy. Might think about adding side skirts for driving those back roads.

Thanks! Yes I am thinking about those - perhaps painted body color. It's funny, I had planned my route home and one of the first side roads was freshly resurfaced. I winced as the gravel pinged off the body, even though I slowed to almost a crawl. I don't see any damage though.

Great upgrade. Buddy your steering wheel is upside down 💨 and definitely get the side skirts and front mud flaps.

Congratulations on your new C7 convertible !

I own a 15 vert Z06 and absolutely love it. I really like the fact that you have the body-colored hood vent / louvers and and the side vents in body color.

I presume your tail-light surrounds are also in body color. A lot of folks really like the shark-gray vents for contrast, but I am old school and like the body-colored vents all around.

A number of posters have said to install side skirts and I could not agree more with them - body color painted or aftermarket in carbon fiber.

To many years of fun and smiles !

best - Dave

Thanks! I should add that I bought the car used, at 5150 miles, but it's pretty close to what I might have bought new in 2016. Yes the taillight surrounds are silver. If funds allow, I'll get the skirts and a Stage 2 style splitter at the same time.

Nice car congrats! My 16' didn't have side skirts. I had some rock chips on the rear fender vents. Don't know if the skirts would have stopped them or not. I hear them hitting my ZO6 carbon when I drive. I had the primary contact areas wrapped. The skirts just get in the way getting in an out! Good luck. Sorry to see the steeing wheel prob. Strange.

Congratulations! From the comparison shots, I'd nickname the new one "Mack the Knife!" So angular, sharp and cutting edge. The C5's smooth, curvy Italian designer-style lines with nary a sharp angle might one day be considered a real corvette classic; as radical as the angular 60's c2 moving away from the '50s rounded c1.
