been asked before. Many of the installs of ported T/B's have been on totally stock cars.

My dad recently took delivery of a 2017 Z06 and I've driven it a few times now. Noticed this "Lag" problem immediately. It's still there. I highly doubt GM changed a thing in the tune for the 2017 MY.

His car is completely stock at the moment, and the lag is there in both Touring and Sport drive modes. I haven't spent enough time in track mode to comment.

Thanks for confirming the problem still exists on the '17 models.

I have one of the first A8 C7 Z06s off the production line and after nearly two years of easy and hard driving I have never noticed any hesitation starting off from stop lights and normal driving around town.

My brother, who has had over 20+ high HP cars, both domestic and foreign, has driven my Z06 about 15 times and he is in total agreement with me that there isn't any hesitation through out the RPM range.

My wife has driven at length our Z06 and she says that it is smother than our Equinox around town.

In order to get another female perspective I let my 42 year old niece drive our Z06 and asked her to be super critical in how it drove and she says as smooth as glass.

Just to check on the possibility of hesitation that I may have been overlooking I tested for the possibility at length yesterday in many different situations and at no time did I ever feel any hesitation in either easy or hard driving. My main problem is lack of traction! I was getting on the freeway in 3rd and gave the LT4 to much juice and was almost sideways before I could get my foot out of it.

I guess I am lucky and thankful that I don't have any complaints about our Z06. With all of the complex systems that go into modern day cars it is a wonder that there aren't more bugs in making things work properly. Sorry that some of my Corvette friends are fighting the bugs.

Yep; it's no issue with the A8 cars.......just the M7's.

Refer to post #158 if you have an M7 and experience this issue.

FWIW! GM tuned this out in the ZL1 cars from their first introduction. The car free revs more to keep from bogging or stalling.

Have you tried punching it from 10,20,30,40 MPH while in Drive?

My main problem is lack of traction!
IMO, it is the main weakness with the Z06.
It makes having all of that power superfluous when it can't be enjoyed in a safe manner.
I really wish GM would do something about this.

We have people in this thread claiming they have this issue with A8 cars so this thread just came full circle.

I have not experienced any hesitation with my A8 during the 343 miles I have driven it. I don't see how it is possible unless there is some type of mechanical failure. I think GM knows this also. That's why they haven't addressed it.

M7 owners refer to post # 158.

I have not experienced any hesitation with my M7 during the 1,700 miles I have driven it. The only exception to this is free revving in neutral or with the clutch released. Rev match blips are race car fast.

I weigh 230 pounds and my wife says that 30 of those pounds are in my right foot.

Yes, I have punched it from just about all MPH points from 10-100 in drive. I think that you are asking if there is hesitation when downshifting in normal driving.

From my experience I have found that downshifting in Tour mode is not as responsive as in Sport or Track modes. In Sport and Track modes it is super fast, but when I am driving on some short or long trip I am not very concerned if the A8 takes another few msec to engage. In my opinion, the C7 A8 is the best trans that GM has made from day one for those wishing an automatic.

Regarding putting the power to the ground in a safe manner I would NOT have bought a 650 HP Corvette if I was afraid that it would be to much to handle.

Like Clint Eastwood said, "A man's got to know his limitations!"

It's been that way forever.
Doesn't the Magnuson Moss Act protect consumers and say that normal breathing mods that a manufacturer can't prove caused a problem can't be used to invalidate a warranty?

Dave....your ported TB should be on your doorstep today or tomorrow at the latest.

It should cure your lag problem and add about 10 RWHP to your bottom line from all the additional airclow....make sure you take a good look at the OEM stock unit and the one I sent you....it speaks volumes!

Look forward to your feedback!

Cheers
Tony
