Yea can't get caught up over hp numbers etc. Sounds like you went from rookie to pro in one night.

Great description/write up, OP. We've all been there when it comes to the rookie mistakes. Thanks for sharing. All in all, sounds like you had a blast!

FANTASTIC Results OP that is awesome good for you!!!!

I Know 2 guys here who have received their best results by running in touring mode with both T/C and Stabiltrack off as that gets ALL the power down.

Of course your on your own if the cars gets squirrelly but if your dead hooking and not sliding around at all and track is prepped well when you ready to try this go for (if its within your comfort level) and you will probably run a 10.6x for sure.

Thanks again, guys.. I really appreciate the kind words and encouragement for this rookie.
Next move, I want to "go faster"...(no surprise there, huh?)
BUT, I am going to be disciplined and NOT make any mods until I optimize this combination...
So, I am going to first try going faster without adding any mods, including keeping even the fuel consistent (which is 93 octane with torco).
After 3-4 trips to the track when I feel I have a very solid and consistent baseline, I will then be adding the CAI, specifically the Halltech. (Tracking and noting DA and track prep along the way)
I have noticed a lot of disagreement on here concerning this mod, so I am going to use "the ultimate dyno" (the drag strip) to test and review this mod myself.

Default New personal best.

Went back to the track last night and was able to get into the ten sixes, in much better air. Also ran several more low ten sevens.
Anyhow new best time:
10.69 @ 128.7mph, -89 DA, tour mode, TC off, 100% stock with DR's, Temple Academy Dragway, Little River/Academy, TX. 808 miles on the odometer.

i may have been able to go a bit faster after this run as the air got even better, but I don't think I let the car cool down enough between runs to take full advantage.

Not sure if they have changed the rules, but I used to get the boot off the track for running under 11.5 without a roll cage?

As long as the car is a 2008 or newer and completely stock you can run down to 10.00 and 135mph at NHRA sanctioned tracks. It's some AAA rule. Some tracks are very strict, esp. the one here in Phoenix.

OP, awesome runs!

Back when Speedworld was still open I was doing some test runs on my Built 2003 Ford Lightning, it was putting down 621 RWHP 708 Torque, 1st pass on my street tune I ran an 11.20 and got the boot, but this was probably 10 years ago

Your car is definitely making some good power to go 129 mph with 1/2 tank of fuel.

Thanks!!

I am running the Hoosier 315/30R18 Drag Radials.
Yes, they are certainly 0.6" shorter than the original tires.
They are also 10 lbs lighter, and almost 2 inches narrower.
diameter of 26.0",
width of 11.7"
The tire weighs 24 lbs,
200 revolutions per quarter mile,
rec. rim width 11-12". (I am running 10.5" Drag Stars @ 25 lbs per whl)

Here are the stock tires:
335/25R20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport
diameter of 26.6",
width of 13.5",
It weighs 34 lbs,
195.5 revolutions per quarter mile.
used on a rim width of 12". (weight on original wheel is 31.8 lbs)

This package removes 33.6 lbs of rotating wheel weight from the rear, decreases the rolling resistance slightly, and it also effectively numerically lowers the gear ratio by 2.3%.
Even if you are dead hooking with stock tires (which would take an exceptionally well prepared track), you should see a significant gain by dropping 16.8 lbs of rotating mass from each of the rear wheels. I am also running one 32oz can of Torco per 10gal of 93 unleaded.

I was able to benefit from the assistance of 1QuickZ when choosing the wheel and tire package, and that was greatly appreciated!

Just a quick update.. after 6 trips to the drags.. and now only running a HT CAI and drag wheels and tires, my new personal best is a 10.47, in negative 350DA... in December 2016. I will be testing the TRIC next.

I've done the same thing in my car at little river, thinking the pass is over and crossing the line on the brakes lol
