4 MPG... Like a boss!
And I thought burning tires on a C7 Z51 Stingray at the track were too much... Z06 = tire expense on steroids!

Melting Slicks
When I had my '09 GT-R, he sent me a set of Carbon Loraine (CL) pads to try on my AP Racing J-Hooks free of charge to generate my feedback on them. Pads were fantastic btw!
If I keep the car and suffer the same issue with leaking (bleed) nipples next year; I'm just going to bite the bullet and replace the OEM Brembo stuff with real quality AP components.

Warranties are great! With my C6 Z I had the engine, torque tube, trans, balancer, altternator a all wheel bearing replace most of which were done under the Vehicle One warranty I purchased from Fitchner.

Great question Bill and let's start with durability. I went back and looked at the data. I looked at days, sessions, hours, miles, and to be honest there is a pretty good variance even among the same tire. However if I try to net it out the MPSC2 and Pirelli's seem to last me about 12 sessions.
I had my first set of Pirelli scrubs last me 18 sessions and my second set 12 sessions but on that 18 I did have to replace the LF after one event because I damaged the tire loading it on the trailer and ended up eventually throwing away the set when the RF corded.
The Hoosiers (both A7 and R7) seemed to last a good bit less at 10 sessions and they always corded the outside edge of the front tires before the rest of the tire wore out.
The Pirelli's seemed to wear pretty evenly and I never corded the outside edge like the Hoosiers and rather I'd cord the outer 1/3 of the front tires at once.
All the tires seemed to fall off a lot after about 8 sessions (that's probably being generous). I'd keep running them until they corded but they definitely lost grip and lap time. It also didn't help that once they lost grip I'd push the tire a lot harder and likely accelerated the wear.
As far as grip goes it really seems to depend a lot more on how much you've used the tires rather than which tire you have. If I were ranking them based on new grip I'd say it's Pirelli, A7, R7, and MPSC in that order but to be honest even the MPSC is a very sticky tire when new I could easily best my time on used Pirelli's with a fresh set of MPSC2. A good example is my last event where in the last half of the life of my Pirelli's my best lap was a 2:02 at VIR. I was also able to hit a 2:02 and was on track to hit a 2:00 when I was balked on a fresh set of MPSC2.
If I'm going to try and set a hot lap though I'd through on some fresh A7 or Pirelli slicks. The Pirelli's also seem to hold up best over a session if you're really hammering it and the MPSC2 will lose a lot of grip when they hot. That said, I do like the way the MPSC2 feel on this car and it's clear the suspension was designed around that rigid sidewall.
Hope this helps.

30-32 hot, 24-26 cold. I really don't like going out at 24 psi though so I tend to just accept that my first run of the day is going to end up with higher pressures and adjust them down toe 30-32 when I come in.
Thanks. Northern VA area.

I just wrapped up my last event of 2016 and thought I would do another recap of the year like I did last year.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rack-days.html
Here is my 2016 track season with my C7 Z06 by the numbers.
Track days: 26
Track Hours: 48.5
Laps: 1677
Track miles: 4431
Front pad sets used: 7
Rear pad sets used: 4
Front rotor sets used: 3
Rear rotor sets used: 1
Tires used: 32
Fuel consumed on track: 1067 gallons
I didn't include it in the numbers but I also did a two-day event in my F80 M3 and corded both front tires and ended up having to replace all 4 pads and rotors.
So far still no overheating with the C7Z even though I continue to get faster with this car. Below is a list of the issues I have experienced with the car.
1) Trans puking fluid out the breather. Finally GM discovered the cause was the anti-foaming agent in the fluid. My first trip to the dealer to flush the system helped but it needs to go back again as it's still doing it - just not as bad.
2) Service air bag light. This came on at my last event and I need to take to the dealer.
3) Exhaust leak and melted knock sensor harness. This happened to me once before and appears to have happened again. This ended my last event a half day early. Going to the dealer for this as well.
Other than that the car has been bullet-proof for me. Here are the stats for the life of the car (2015/2016 seasons).
Track days: 51
Track Hours: 102.5
Laps: 2574
Track miles: 9042
Front pad sets used: 12
Rear pad sets used: 8
Fuel consumed on track: 2255 gallons
