Default DSC Sport Suspension Controller Adds Launch Control Feature - Drag Racers Rejoice!

From DSC:

This week, we were proud to release support for the all-new launch control feature in the DSC Sport tuning software! It's an absolute game changer for straight line suspension tuning that allows you to control the damping force of each individual shock when launching the vehicle. The table overrides the G-force table on launch and allows you to soften the rear shocks to match tire frequency to the pavement and allow the car to squat for maximum grip off the line! We will be following up with more information on this feature when we update our all-new Software User Manual that also made its debut on the DSC Sport website this week.

Can one use this feature while not in the actual Launch Control mode as most of us can already out 60foot it? Adding it to tour mode would be ideal I'd think.

Thanks!

Best,
Gene

Yes. The table edits the shock values based on the selected PTM mode, not just in launch control mode.

This might be slightly off topic, but since the manual was linked here I have a question. The manual says the Magneride shocks are full stiff at 1000mA, but the Z06 default tune from DSC has the shocks going to 1500mA in Track mode and 1100mA in Sport mode? Only the Touring mode goes to 1000mA at 100% in the shock calibration table.

You're right. That's a good question for DSC.

stopped by and saw Mike this morning - had WiFi completely activated and now have both Touring and Sport loads on my C7R and includes launch control completely active - will alert Mike to check in on this thread

Are you looking at it in touring mode (background color in yellow?) On the settings tab, if you select "Chassis Track" under Show/Edit Tables for: the boarder will turn blue, then go look at the shock calibration at 100%. Says 1500mA. DSC's files haven't changed since November, but I just downloaded both the stock dampers files (velocity and without) and they both max out at 1500 in track mode.

i switched between them all and found it peculiar they would all be the same. I will check it again when I have a chance.

ask him to post the link to the new firmware so we can use wifi and launch settings!

Take a look in the DSC "Software User Manual" (available on the http://dscsport.com site):

Damper operating range
a. OEM dampers – 1500mA is full soft and 500mA is full stiff.

b. Tractive dampers – 1900mA is full soft and 500mA is full stiff.

c. MagneRide shocks – 0mA is full soft and 1000mA is full stiff (shock calibration table is reversed from that of Tractive and other OEM dampers).

Our MSRC magnetorheological shocks are what they are calling the MagneRide shocks. I don't know what shocks the "OEM dampers" is referencing.

rikhek posted up the file the other day - here's a link to the .pdts file you can upload into your controller:

I think we have another day or two before Rick or Mike post up the Wi-Fi security stuff to allow us to access it.

Understood. That's what I'm talking about though.

The manual says the Mag shocks are full stiff at 1000mA, but the DSC track setting has them going to 1500mA in track mode, 1100mA in Sport Mode and 1000mA in Touring mode (softest.) I'm guessing that the manual number was just a typo but was looking for confirmation. I suspect 1500mA is actually full hard for the mag shocks.

I think what you are seeing is the shock in Track is simply full stiff by 60% and in Sport full stiff by 90%.

Why they don't carry 1000 all the way out to 100%, I don't know, but maybe it takes continuously increasing amperage to keep them at full stiff.

I just pulled the latest config off of their site for stock shocks with velocity. You are correct that is goes to 100% at 1000ma, 1100ma, and 1500ma in tour, sport, and track respectively.

I suspect that there is a typo in the user manual and the OEM MR shocks go to 1500 ma but would need Mike to confirm.

Another option is for someone with the controller and stock shocks to put the car in track mode and log the voltage through the data logger. See if it gets over 1000ma - maybe try stabbing the brakes.

I will be posting the pdts files right now for launch mode there are two type Tractive and Magnetic
I will be posting the firmware as well. give me until early next week to host the install or client version. ill work on an instruction so that you can load the firmware. you can install both firmware and software together in the same installer by selecting firmware and eprom. I may even post the installer im just running out of time

Im leaving today for AZ got to go to the Barrett Jackson auction. sorry to leave you hanging

OK I just checked the installer super simple and easy to use but dont use the firmware and eprom its not the right pdts file imbedded. use the firmware only then use the DSC software and set vehicle type to C7 then open the pdts file from our site that has launch mag. write all under tools it will take 20 sec to load. thats it
