Default Nitto.05r very impressed!!!!

2016 c7 z06 with 670rwhp and 735rwtq so my stock pilot sports would only hook in 3rd gear and even in 3rd would spin a bit, i first got a set of mickey thompson et/ss drag radials and at 70mph vehicle started hopping and vibrating, at 120mph i thought the car was going to explode, they took them back, warrantied them and i ordered a new set 335/25/20, they told me there was in issue and they were on back order, so then friday i was told they stopped production for now on those tires. So per alot of peoples recs i ordered 345/30/19 nitto 05r drag radials and got a set of replica 19's from mike at norcalss, lets just say they hook in every gear, even first gear the car hooks and goes. Wow, now that i can truly appreciate the power this car has and they feel like stock tires are on the car. Now it was dark last night and alot of traffic so i only got up to about 100mph but they felt great. Very happy with my 19 nitto set up. They are awesome!!

I want this 19" OEM replica NT05R combo... How was the wheel/tire weight compared to the OEM 20" setup?

Have the exact same set but have not had the courage to put them on the street(tread wear 0) Was planning to use them in 1/4 mile... How have they been on the street???...Wheels were a little over $600 and the tires were about $800 installed... The rims look exactly like my street rims.. can't tell you about the weight but since they were for 1/4 mile and not street or track I didn't think it mattered that much....

Exactly what I did. Stock MPSS up front in both cases.

First try: Factory chrome 20s (for sale!) and MT ET Street S/S drag radials

...massive instability, car wandered, changed lanes on its own, etc...

Second try: Replica chrome 19s and Nittor drag radials

Much more stable. Too cold for me to know if they hook as well, but they're far less spooky. They're also what I had on my C6Z and my V12 BiTurbo Merc all year round.

Haha. Be careful on here. So many haters that think the Michelin is the only tire for this car.

NT05R is the best all round performance tire!
Congrats and nice looking car.

Nitto needs to make that tire in a 345/30r20

19" NT05R + NorCal SS Replica 19" = 73lbs on my bathroom scale.

Look great, feel great on the street and on the track. Unless you were bombing an off ramp on the street you wouldn't know I had replaced my MPSS' with NT05R's.

Note: They like a LOT of heat to hook up at my local dragstrip at stock+CAI power levels.

I had this tire for about a year, they're about done though. I put about 5-6000mi on them with about 10-15 track passes light burn outs. They get a little shaky around 150+mph and you can feel the sidewall flex during good cornering even on the street. I like them though since most street play is straight line stuff, they're cheaper than the Michelins, and last fairly well on the PA roads

Never had an issue with my M/T SS radials.
Must be unique to that particular size.

yes, they just started having issues, i tried the 19's and had major issues, so then i tried to order the 20's and now they stopped production, but i talked to one of there people and he said they only have issues with the z06, all other cars are ok

Non Run Flats?

I Have The Same Nitto Drag Radial As You In The Back With Michelin ZP Run Flats In The Front But The Car Is Unstable As Hell.

I Bought Some New Front Rims And Some Nitto Non Run Flats For The From Hoping That Will Help.

Quick Reply: Nitto.05r very impressed!!!!
