Default Advice for HPDE drivers ZO7

After more than 17 track days on my ZO6 ZO7 2015 and after changing the brake pads "front 4 times rear 2 times" I reached the point where I have to get new CCB rotors.
While I am replacing the rotors and pads I noticed the the caliper pistons are pushed out and the dust seals are so abused and torn.
I bought new rebuild seal kit for ZO7 brakes from girodisc for the front only. I did change it by myself and now I am enjoying my late braking again.
Bottom line hpde driver you really need to change the the caliper pistons seal if you are driving your vette like you stole it.
Happy weekend to everybody

New rotors at all 4 corners or just the front rotors?

I thought vette owners long discarded the dust boots and the caliper seals are generally perfectly fine.

only the front. Honestly the rear ones still look new.

What track/s do you run? Tracks that are hard on brakes?

What tire are you running?

I'm curious what temps those CCMs get up to. My FE6 iron brakes have significant rotor wear from just a few days at Sebring but the calipers look excellent. Dust boots are intact without melting, no caliper paint discoloring, etc.

I do it in Bahrain International Circuit. Micheal Schumacher Called it the Brakes Killer. I started with CUP2 then converted to Hoosiers.. I Love them.

I'm running the AP Racing setup which doesn't have dust boots. Prior to that I just left the stock melted dust boots alone.

Also, make sure you check the grease boot where the lower control arm connects to the spindle. Mine had melted but only on the right front.

Did you melt the grease boot with the CCMs or the AP Racing kit?

My car never had CCBs but I'm not sure how long it's been melted. Given how bad the brake cooling is on this car I suspect it'll be an issue with any setup. It certainly was an issue on the C6Z as well.

oh yeah. The dont look at ine level the pad and the rotor have more wearing where the big piston of the caliper contacts.
In other words, the pads lost significant amount at the top comparing to bottom side. Same to rotors.

"Bottom line hpde driver you really need to change the the caliper pistons seal if you are driving your vette like you stole it."

If you are referring to the dust boots, I had to change them on my C6 GS at least 1x/yr despite cooling ducts from the Katech front splitter. Even had one ignite when pulling into the pits to pick up an instructor. I got tired of it and left them out. Now I have Wilwood's that don't have them. If you're driving around in snow and salt, keep them in. If not, it's fine without them.
