Is GM ever going to let the '15/'16 owners know what the deal is??

For some bizarre reason, the mods have not been willing to raise this question again in the "Ask Tadge...?" section. That is the only place that any GM corporate employee will bother to look and we are stymied from asking the question. The only way to get feedback from an intentionally unresponsive company is by asking that question over and over in public. You notice that when he had a crowd of people around him, he was all about helping out the vette faithful, since then.....crickets!

You have lots of detailing post, and thanks soo much for your info on the Lug Guide Tool. Have you personally experienced limp mode or overheating track days in New York? Haven't seen a post or comment with your 2015 Z06 overheating.

I think they may have a huge problem trying to implement such a modification. Since this is a change to the intake system on cars that have already been certified as far as mileage and emissions they may have to certify that making these changes will not negatively impact the certifications of the cars in the field already. There are probably other logistical issues with having two types of intakes authorized for one set of cars. Providing the actual parts may not be the problem. The problem may be providing the support required to properly maintain levels in the field. What happens after a Customer buys the update and has a problem that is taken to a dealer. The update basically changes the configuration level of the engine. If the dealer doesn't know about the update or what the update means from a parts standpoint then replacing parts under warranty could become an issue. All sorts of "WHAT IFs" need to be worked out. Look at the trouble they have with getting dealers to recognize which oil should be used and that dry sump cars require a 500 mile oil change which is included in the factory maintenance package and that is something as simple as could be.
3000 dealerships times 4 or 5 employees at each one means you have 12 to 15 thousand people you need to inform and make the process as fool proof as possible. When will this happen? Not soon.

Aftermarket will be the only soultion. IMO GM should validate a fix brought to market by a major player and if installed by a certified dealership should at minimum keep the powertrain warranty intact and should (but wont) assist in covering some of the cost associated with the fix.
This would seem to address most of the hurdles Bill mentioned

I'm not saying that is ALL that they SHOULD do; I'm saying that would probably be the best we could expect (if that).

Im not one to complain or jump aboard the lets cry and whine train but I only track my car. I dont bother changing tires, brakes, and fluids and cleaning it to street it because I do 2-6 days a month. With that said I take July and Aug off because of power down every damn time due to IAT's. That pisses me the F off, a lot. I really want this resolved and hope GM steps up. Im not doing the 100 tune and paying 600 a day in fuel. Shouldn't have to.
Edit:
If not GM, Katech or anyone in the game should be able to replicate the blocks and lids so Im sure an aftermarket would sell. $hit, I'll buy it
I would bet if enough of us commit to buy this if made, one of them will produce it. Do I hear a poll or group buy coming
I'll even start the topic. Look for it and chime in

I'm on record many times saying that the complaints about overheating should stop making its way into every Z06 thread. But this is different. Tadge absolutely said a kit would be made available to owners of 15 and 16 cars. This should absolutely be raised again as the weekly "Ask Tadge" question, so that he will address this promise he made but did not deliver. It is NOT trolling. It is following up on the promise made more than 6 months ago.

That's what the man said.
If GM makes promises they can't/won't fulfill then they should at least make it clear to everyone, rather than letting people dangle in the wind.

GM likes to practice the conspiracy of silence. They also know from experience that there is not enough momentum from the few disgruntled Corvette owners and that nothing will come of it in terms of a legal challenge. This has been proven time and time again. Those that are really upset will move on and purchase something else.

The silence speaks volumes... People are only as good as their word, he gave his word, if he doesn't come through by spring/early summer, we will recognize him for what he will have become... I also think nothing is going to happen but I am holding out slim hope that it just takes a lot of time to get through layer upon layer of GM gov't bs/legal req.

Once it starts warming up, the complaining will begin all over again.

I'm not up there with some of you guys because this is only my 5th vette. But He, Tadge, is also the one that also said there would be no C7 ZR1. I understand that situations change but I do wish we would receive straight answers.

The supercharger is TOO SMALL for our cars, that's why it heats up the way it does! I think whoever agreed on them and drew up a contract for them should be fired!
