No, end of the 3rd lap...and it hits the rev limiter in 3rd at 126 which is just a bit too short for the two longest straights at Hallett. But shifting to 4th would be slower.

is that a custom splitter? how is it mounted?

What wing is that?

had you done a previous TT at hallet prior to installing the new aero? if so what was your time then to now?

The wing was designed by a well known British aerodynamicist and built by F1 carbon layup contractors at Silverstone. It is a 1800 mm dual element wing with a 300mm main plane and 120mm flap.

I consulted with the aerodynamicist about designing a wing for the C7 along with G Speed on the uprights. G Speed is now the US distributor for these wings.

We have also been developing splitters to work in conjunction with the wing. They are super stout.

I dropped about 2 seconds on this track direction. But That's not really a true number because I've been monkeying with other things that have not been beneficial. I think there is somewhere around a 3-3.5 second delta at Hallett once I get it all right with the world.

It's a functional item designed for the track.

The wing does remove very easily leaving almost no trace of it being there. Takes all of 3 minutes for me to either remove it or install it.

The splitter takes 15 minutes.

I also don't like driving around looking like speed racer, that's why I designed it in superhero fashion, Bruce Wayne as a daily and Batman on the track.

And when it comes time to sell the car, it can be returned to stock appearance easily and quickly because you are not disturbing any panels that would require a paint match. Only the front splitter and rear lower valence in carbon flash.

Good for you! That's a big improvement - part of the reason we've seen the spy photos of the latest C7 iteration with a large wing on the back - it's functional!

No reason to explain yourself to the waxers here. Nice job and well done.

what's a waxer?

@fmcokc

This wing and splitter seems like the way to go imo.

Aero is my next step after my car gets back from the fab shop getting a rollbar custom built.

That splitter, is that a stage 1 GM "splitter" above it? I'm curious how well it will hold up long term without struts.

It is a stage 1 splitter. The reason why I used that is because the bottom of the stage 1 splitter is flat unlike the stage 2/3 and it's much cheaper. ($100).

Does this answer your question about it's strength? (I know, I need a shoe shine)

Also, once you have the splitter, you can make additional replacement panels for around $100 each.

Here is what the panel looks like after getting hit by a flying BMW at COTA in turn one. The driver said all he saw was the underside of the car. It had already taken out a Boxster, launched in the air, took us out and then hit two other cars.

You can see the splitter is bend and twisted but not broken.

All that being said, should you go off and bugger it up, it's no big deal to replace the panel.

Car looks great Chris! We will have 8 wings on the shelf in about 6 weeks. We have 5 spoken for.

We also have several versions of our splitter, so far.
